once/if the stat dec is accepted by the court, it will effectively go back to the stage at which you were first summonsed IIRC. so i would say no about their fees you will have to go to the court to plead your case and try and arrange a repayment plan with the court
I have just got off the phone with the court the lady seemed reluctant to help at first and wanted to know why I wanted to apply the stat declaration, she now says she will go away and look into the archives to find out what happens from here.
I said that obviously the court needs to talk with marstons to cancell their action0 -
Hi
For the record, it should be pointed out that, given that Magistrates Courts and Bailiffs are involved in these two cases, neither of them relate to private parking charge notices, but to unpaid penalty charges issued from a local authority/police/railways/TfL source.Ethical moneysaver0 -
not sure if ive missed something in this thread, but what is the initial cahrge for, and who issued it?
is it a council, or something else.
somewhere i saw something that mentioned a tube/rail fine/peanlty?From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -

Apparently it was issued by hammersmith magistrates back in December 2007, the original fine was for 165.
The lady I spoke to at the court was having difficulties finding my details but says she will com back to m tomorrow. Hopefully I can settle this with the court rather than the bailiffs as apparently I will incur a further 2500 -

It was for an unpaid penalty fare on the tube0 -

OK I have an update on this.
After having spoken with the court, the lady seemed very reluctant to accept a statutory declaration and told me if I apply for one I will be sent back to court and my fine is likely to be increased.
I explained that all I am interested in doing to repaying the fine but she didnt seem to want to help and told me I have to deal with the bailiffs.
Where do I go from here?
Any advice appreciated0 -
As far as I know she is talking BS.Have you been onto Bailiffadviceonline. If you want the full info and quick, then go to them.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

With many people having access only to a mobile phone, or even calling from an office where 0906 numbers are restricted, we have introduced a brand new service where, for a one off fee of £10 you may send us a question which we will respond back to you via e-mail. This will ensure that you know exactly how much you are spending and will allow you to contact us from either your home or your office without the worry of a large telephone bill.
Good value really.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
