If you've not used it yet, I think Argos have a 16-day return policy so hopefully it's for a Christmas present and unused.

thanks :), but unfortunately not. it has been used & you're specifically told by Argos that it's exempt from their normal return policy, you can only return if it's faulty.

never mind, it's only money hey! :rotfl:

i've not read the whole thread so forgive me if these have already been mentioned, if anyone wants to get the tab USB (standard size, inbound - the power cable doubles as an outbound USB connection) connected or able to read a standard size SD card, i've got one of these. worked straight away & the stylus has come in handy too. i also bought a stand/cover, it keeps it safe from knocks & scratches & makes it a little easier to hold. it's worth £13, but no more IMO, i'm glad i didn't opt for one of the more expensive versions with multiple viewing angles as it would have been a waste (for me).

    happy bargain hunting folks :)

All thats in the box is the galaxy tab, quick start guide, warranty booklet & power lead.

The power lead is a usb lead that you can use along with the included plug, or you can plug the usb straight into your pc.

Thanks for that. Sorry to be so dim but is the power lead one which plugs into an electric socket so it can charge/run from mains electricity?

As you can tell I know nothing about such things but if I buy one for a present I want to know what extras I would need.

I have planned on the case and stylus but that's as far as my knowledge goes.

yes, it's also a USB cable.
  • unbelieveable! i bought a 10.1 16gb wifi tab from Argos on 7th Nov for £299, which seems to be a day before all this price matching/special offers started! really wished i'd not popped into this area of the site! :(

my lucky timing strikes again *sigh* :o

I bought my 7" tab from CPW for £149 on 6th November.

I'm chewing over whether to buy sammy 7" or 10" so somebody give me a shove

Presumably the cash back needs to be claimed from Samsung website direct - when does this cash back offer end - do i need to choose quickly?
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

another member of the 'lucky' club eh? never mind, at least we've got the cashback to look forward to! ;)
edit: sorry, i've missed your point here as i thought you were saying you'd paid the higher price too? but that doesn't seem to be the case? the argos reduction happened the day after i bought mine, i think.

i'd been thinking about getting a tab for a while & decided to take the plunge now. my mistaken logic: the current samsung cashback offer & the arrival of the new nexus just around the corner = probably not a great deal of movement on price coming up to xmas....:rotfl:

it's the risk we take with technology/gadgets, always likely to be a better offer around the corner.

Samsung offer, purchase by 31.12.12 & claim by 28.02.13 (within the specified timescale from your purchase date though).

i'd thought a 7" would be fine for what i wanted, but then i had a play with a 10" ipad in costco & realised that a 7" would be too small for me, more like a large phone. give them a go & see what suits you best :)

Sold - i'm getting 10" - too good to miss

  • This is in response to the release on the 13th of the Nexus 10 (made by Samsung) I assume they are ditching the old tabs cheap.

I went to Curry's and PC World yesterday and neither would price match CarPhone Warehouse.

Curry's didn't stock the Silver, which I wanted, only the white.
The manager at PC World refused to price match because he kept insisting that with the cash back they were cheaper which was true for the white but not the silver which PC World sell for £299 as opposed to £269 which they are selling the white for.

So.....I got Currys online to price match against John Lewis instead who currently have the silver for £238:

    Tablet: £299.99
    Case for my Kindle: £9.99

    Subtotal: £309.98

    Minus: £67.10 price match discount

    = £242.88 paid

    Minus £80 cashback

    =£162.88 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Silver :j :j :j

I'm a bit gutted that they wouldn't do it in store because they were doing Norton Tab security for £5 and they wouldn't match that online, but I'll just get a free download for the time being.
