I think Tesco must have a blip on their system just now right enough. I also do my Tesco price check and entered the details yesterday and always have my results by the next morning and nothing through from them yet which is unusual.

If anyone's looking for a couple of presents, I bought my son a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 through something like Mobiles.co.uk - can't quite remember, but I found a similar link:

    http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/buy/SAMSUNG_GALAXY_ACE_KM043_S7TS?intcmp=FG_Nov_SamBundle

where I got a free Tab 2 with the phone. Solved two presents, phone for my boy and a tab for my husband. Like an installment plan, pay monthly for both. The phone he had whose contract had just run out was £26 a month so I was very happy with this deal. Not for everyone, but perhaps for some of us.

One way to defer the costs. However, Galaxy Ace with more texts and data on same network is £10 per month less. Over 24 months, that's £240 more for a £149/$115 device.

Just be aware of the hidden cost of credit. Cheaper to buy on credit card and pay off over 24 months I would have thought.

But, as you said, not for everyone but perhaps some with poor credit.

Gosh, I'm sure you couldn't have meant that to sound so offensive.

As I said, I bought the Ace 2 - with a different package, I didn't go get the paperwork and find out who, it was mobiles or someone, unlimited data and texts + 100 minutes I think.

But not everyone does credit cards, I don't own one, I don't mind having a contract, it's just paying monthly for something, which is the usual way I'd have a phone.

  • I bought the Samsung tab 10.1 in Tesco this evening, got it for £232, by using a £6 off a £40 spend...obviously planning on claiming my £50 cash back, but I'm a wee bit worried as my receipt simply states "Tablet" no mention of it being a Samsung, could this cause a problem when claiming?
