  • OMG we're doing this with our after school kids on Monday! We got the same cones from the same sort of place but we are using polystyrene balls for heads (could use scrunched up newspaper) and making angels and santas then making a giant Xmas tree with the younger ones using the usual green hand prints cut out and used as leaves/branches. Our centre always looks messy after we do these sorts of things :D

i might have a play around with the kids with the hand print tree thank you for the idea.x

Firstly my post was a general post, not a specific reply.
If the imperfect shop was the first my "loss" (cost really,) would be £11 ish inc. fillers, making unit price c. £3.70.
    A perfect/normal shop gives a unit cost c.78p.
The more perfect shops the less the effect of the imperfect shop.
When my stupidity/lack of attention causes an imperfect shop I resolve to compensate by doubling my efforts to bring down the unit cost by completing more "perfect" shops.
As I said the current glitch is working out @ 78p/box, and one imperfect shop wont change that too much.
    HTH.

Thank you, I am not disagreeing with you and have lived with a number of failed shops when the glitch had ended while I was shopping. But as I had ...erm ... 7 failed shops due to my enthusiasm - 4 due to being unlucky as the fingers stopped matching, 2 due to stupidity as mobile died and I bought the wrong Green & Blacks
and 1 Thornton's test shop (which in my defence I only did trying to be helpful so that I could report back here and give something back) then I had a slightly different outlook on it.

Chocolate fingers crossed for glitch free glitching :).

Cover a cone with PVA glue. Then starting at the bottom spiral green tinsel round the cone so that it completely covers it. Cut of the excess and tuck the end down the pointy bit at the top. They make fab mini Christmas trees. :T

:T:T Thank you both for giving me some more ideas - I picked up quite a few cones because I knew they would be great starters for these sorts of craft and so much sturdier than anything I could have made from card :D

I love the idea of the Santa and did pick up some red and white 'fur' that would make a great beard and suit :j:j
Silence is golden...unless you have a toddler. In that case silence is very, very suspicious!

Can I just say thank you to all the good people on this thread. I have been a member of MSE for 6 years and have saved loads of money, made over £2000 in Quidco payments and made lots of new friends.

I have had a tough 4 years with lots of family problems but thanks to MSE I am able to deal with my creditors, pay my household bills on time and eat lovely things I could not usually afford.
I also now have some lovely things in my home that I could not have afforded before and that is also thanks to everyone on here.

So to all the good people a big thanks and a hug.
    Smashing post :T
I couldn't begin to count up how much I've saved by using coupons and robbing T's and A's blind :D

  • Oooo tanku for the Maoam reminder :D

Your cat has a CC?! Is that so you get more coupons? Please forgive me if it's obvious, I haven't even had a :coffee: yet...
Of course he does, so does his brother :rotfl:
Lol, you get more money off vouchers if you have multiple cards. The less you use them the more conditional spend coupons they send you so i try to rotate my cards around. We have 4 in this house. :D
