    Morning,

Well BF got his promotion which is good. Not quite as much money as hoped for but its a bit extra which will be a help.

However my work has become hell on earth. The job suits me because although its not well paid I don't have to spend any of it on transport, work clothing or food while I am there which seems to work out the same income as BF who earns £5k more than me. As we want kids I was hoping to just hang on there until we get pregnant and I can take mat leave but I have a feeling its all about to go very wrong.

Ebay has been doing ok so should have a few quid for the pot from that soon. Don't seem to have any money in my bank account - roll on payday!

Having a nice peaceful day off to myself catching up on everything.

£25 to the pot from working BH Monday and £45 from Ebay profits.

Quite excited because one Ebay item went a lot higher than expected so with that and solicitor cheque should make over £500 this month.

However a bit nervous as buyer wants to send courier to pick up item. How do I protect myself if he pretends he didn't receive item? Anyone had this dilemma before?

Its 2am and I cant sleep. Stressing myself out about work and MIL and that we have just decided to try for a baby and how on earth that will fit in with plans.

Decided to calm myself down with a bit of spreadsheeting and bank transfers. Another £20 from Ebay and £77 cheque refunded from solicitors.

That's better. Night night :shhh: :D
  • Congratulations on BF's promotion!! Far better than the other alternative, your doing fantastic this month, we are only on the 14th and your well on the way to beating march's record!!

Have you seriously considered the costs involved with a child? I am not trying to put a downer on it, but the maternity pay is pants.

Is occupational maternity pay offered by your employer? Mine was 90% for 20 weeks. Had £10,000 on 0% credit cards by return to work time. Fortunately we had £7,000 in savings which we stoozed!

Good luck with the practicing though! ;-)

    Hi everyone,

Yup decided there would never be a right time financially but if we didn't crack on with it we would never get around to it.

I am loving the "trying" but terrified about the end result. Giving birth cant be that bad if HDK did it 3 times right?

Giving birth is fine, it's the next 27 years that's the problem :D.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
