  • Math, those slow cookers are now £23.75 in Argos reduced down from £35.

    £19.99 in Tesco stores ;)
  • tempted as i have some poits on my card to cover that i can spend in argos, but they mite be cheaper after xmas. don't know what to do.

I am thinking about getting a slow-cooker and wondered why you are thinking about getting another, is it because the one you have is too small as I am not sure what size to go for ???

Thinking of getting another cos mine is scratched, splotted, and shabby and the tempt control is held on with duck tape :-[

I already have a large oval one. We're a family of five so I wouldn't get a small round one, even if there were only two of us I would still get the oval size cos you can put legs of lamb and chickens in then much easier, plus pudding basins for baine marie cooking.

If I get some money for Christimas I'm deffo off down to Tesco ;D

  • Is it THIS ONE that's £19.99 or could it be a different model? :-/ The £26.99 one on the Tesco website is the same model as the Argos one

If it is the same model , that's a great bargain 8)

Yes, that is the one in my local store. Says it was £29.99 now £19.99, better get myself down there then incase everyone from here starts popping out to their local Tesco. ;D ;D

Silly question time, but does the beef not stick together in lumps when cooked in the microwave?

Thanks, I might have a go at that. I've never actually cooked anything in the microwave, I just use it for reheating and defrosting.

An alternative to using mince is Quorn. My husband cant stand minced beef any more as we both were very ill after eating it one time. I made spag bol the other night with minced Quorn and although the weight of the bag of quorn (300g) was less than a pack of beef (450g?), for some reason the meal went further than if I had used beef.

Is the £19.99 one definitely the 6.5 litre model then ?

Yep. Is it's oval it's 6.5 ltrs. That's to the brim tho! So working capacity is 4.5 -5 ltrs. HTH
