my slow cooker finally arrived this morning, put pork joint in it and it was lovely. My little one actually ate the pork and he has never eaten it before when it has been roasted. This just confirms it is money well spent.
I do have a quick question though - i want to cook chilli in it tomorrow as i will be out all day and i need something ready for when we get back. The receipe book that came with it says to add the kidney beans an hour before the end but i wont be here so should i add them in the morning before i leave?
Any advice greatfully received0 -
yes if you use tinned ones they only need to be warmed through, if you left them in all day they would fall apart.
Doesnt happen if you cook dried ones, which involves soaking overnight, boiling for 15 minute and then simmering for at least an hour.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

thanks for the reply Ssaver. I will leave them out then, perhaps i could heat them on the hob when i get in and then just stir them in.
will be spending all day wondering how my chilli is cooking, but it is nice to know that i can walk thro the door to food ready and waiting. ( I hope)0 -

Far be it from me to help you spend money 160, but the one in argos is humongous. Might be helpful when you have another chick to feedLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0
