Barclaycard are screwed then. Just like barclays have been for my overdraft ppi and the barclayloan ppi. I had £50k in the bank when barclaycard took over from goldfish in 2007. Didnt need ppi.
  • Updating as I said I would in post 13 -

Barclays have repaid a total of £3083.35 (the money went into the bank a week before the letter arrived!) for the loan. There is nothing so far but the acknowledgement of the complaint from Barclaycard. Details of the card PPI were also on the summary they sent me.

It was definitely worth making the SAR request!
PPI on Natwest loan, Barclayloan, MBNA credit card, and Mortgagecare all repaid just for asking in 2012/2013!

Barclaycard - PPI refund refused 26/01/13, ombudsman upheld 12 May 2014, Barclays resisted until March 2015 - FOS say Barclays are calculating an offer, they have 8 weeks.

Especially as you didn't even have to pay for it!

    Well done on your success.

    Please advise,

Do you know whay your Barclaycard ppi complaint was rejected? It's just I am awaiting a response as I had a Morgan Stanley Card, Goldfish and the Barclaycard. It would be good to know the reasons.

Please advise had his claim upheld!
although I haven't yet had a 'claim upheld' letter, I think one is on the way. An unexpected large amount has shown up in our joint Barclays account!

If you read the bottom of pleaseadvise's last post it says the barclayloan was upheld but the barclaycard was not?

No, it says it's still ongoing:
There is nothing so far but the acknowledgement of the complaint from Barclaycard.

Last post from Please Advise on this thread is 23/01/13??

    EDIT:
Please Advise posted about his rejection on an entirely different thread, why are you replying here?
The rejection was because it was an online application. These are termed "non-advised" and so cannot be mis-sold because they are actively bought not sold. The only exception is if a pre-ticked box for PPI was employed as part of the application. Obviously, this wasn't the case with Please Advise as the Bank rejected his complaint.

Im just saying what his profile says at the bottom, that the barclaycard complaint was refused on the 26/01/13.

Maybe the end of the profile is updated even if they have not posted recently, i dont know but it says it was refused on the 26/01/13.

I just wonder why it was refused on the 26/01/13? Especially as the barclayloan was upheld.
