Is OH English? Bread sauce?!

But agreed, pigs in blankets are the unifying factor for all good Christmas dinners (unless you're a vegetarian)

Japan sounds wonderful and is definitely one of the few places on my bucket list. I love Japanese cuisine and culture (well, the bits exemplified by Haruki Murakami and Studio Ghibli) :o

If you haven't already read it, Michael Booth's 'Sushi and Beyond' is well worth a read (once you get past his Guardian writer style self deprecation) ;)

Thats brilliant! I've never got out to the Far East at all, so I listen to traveller's tales all the more closely :)
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • We did a 3 night break in Tokyo followed by a cruise that inc 1 day in South Korea as we wanted to see a few places without the hassle of packing / unpacking though it did mean we didn't go inland very much. It wasn't my choice of destination but I was blown away. The Japanese take pride in everything and it shows. Everyone wants to make your experience as good as possible and strangers will stop and offer assistance. May is apparently when the cherry blossoms are at best and totally transform views.

Wow - fab honeymoon destination! :D

Bread sauce is a must - and stuffing definitely has sausagemeat in (and there needs to be parsnips) - so I'm a mix of both :)

    He's not!

    There's a Ghibli museum in Tokyo :)

I haven't read it, will look out for it, thanks!

That sounds wonderful! Unpacking etc is a good concern, large luggage is a bit unexpected/unpractical on the trains. I do hope people help when I have my confused face on the subway, I can't even handle the London Underground! I like Glasgow's circle :o

    Thanks :D
See how interesting it is, different people's ideas! I did try bread sauce again when I was cooking but I don't get it!

I made bread sauce from scratch the first year I was married - most people didn't even try it. FIL declared it was marvellous :T - just like from a packet :rotfl:. Never made it again .

Japan in May sounds great :D. Don't like all that raw fish though - that's why we invented fire :).
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I would just blame all bread sauce in general ;)

We don't even like fish, nevermind raw fish :o
