So glad it's not just me - I was beginning to feel like the terrible girlfriend who didn't know her boyfriend well enough lol!

Well his gym hamper has lots of cool bits in like nice headphones, fancy water bottle ( well it has a compartment to hold pound coins / keys etc ha) gym clothes, gym bag, book on fitness toiletries and other bits n bobs for the gym - its going to end up quite big and will hopefully look good with cellophane and a bow so perhaps that will pass as a main present...

I don't suppose there is a definite rule that there HAS to be a main expensive present especially if there's nothing big you really want.i think we're both only just getting used to the idea that Christmas isn't like when you were a kid ( we are 24 so yes we should be used by now ha).

Think I'll get him the new football manager game, a little mechano or Lego set ( will keep him busy :) the spider man onsie from primark ( he will probably hate this but I think it's hilarious) and a couple of things from Fred perry - his favourite shop, and some chocolate / sweetytype things.

    Fingers crossed he likes!

I am really struggling to get ideas for my boyfriend. I thought about getting him some of those touchscreen gloves, some aftershave & a nice top or something from jacamo. He has just bought himself a motor bike and got all the gear for it. He does want a screen for the bike but its £70 plus fitting and VAT!

He is really into football and computers/gaming but he just buys things he wants when he wants them.

    Men are a pain!

How about some bits to clean the bike? Muc off, a cleaning mitt, tyre gauge, foot pump, clean lube/cleaner. Thermals to wear under bike gear (makes a huge difference in winter, believe me! Lidl have thermal ski wear in at the moment, which would be ok).

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A
  • My boyfriend is hard to buy for too! He doesn't want any DVDs or games and nothing else for his walls (got him a canvas last year that he loves)

Want to get him an actual present rather than vouchers tho.

Thanks that is a good idea, although he would be too big for lidl's thermals I think, as he is a rather large bloke. I was thinking of getting him something like a track day experience but he weighs too much.

I shall have to put my thinking cap back on!

In that case, try the thermals in Field & Trek (Sports Direct might sell them too) as I fitted into those for my holiday in Iceland in January and I was a size 30/32 then. There are bike shops that do a good size range, but if they're designed for bikers, they'll probably cost more money. As its for wearing under bike gear, it won't matter so much. Think my thermals were £7.99 for each part.

**eta-They are now £6 and do up to 4XL.**

Part of the Furniture Photogenic Combo Breaker Xmas Saver!
we normally have around £50 budget + I make up stockings (which I always say £10 and almost always spend £20).

Will prob get him some of his fav perfume and as he mentions he wants Battlefield 3 every opportunity he gets I guess that'll be bought too.

I was getting him the new call of Duty game but he decided he would have that as a late b'day pressie (October b'day).

Probably order the new Blackburn Rovers shirt for him from the boys...............ETA: OUCH they've gone up in price in the last couple of years.

with 2 kids we have a smaller budget then it seems many others do so makes it pretty hard to buy nice treaty bits on top of a main pressie.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

he just buys what he wants when he wants it!

^Isn't that what all adults do, assuming they can afford it?

I'm only going to wrap a couple of "token" gifts for my husband for the sake of our kids, who will be sad if we do not have present piles like theirs - albeit extremely small "token" present piles. It all seems rather pointless. The only people who will buy "real" gifts for myself and husband will be our own parents.

i hate buying for hubby as we are lucky that we can afford to buy things that we want..within reason i mean.

its usually chocs pjs and a dvd if he wants one..he only pays games and usually has one if it released at a suitable time of year..if not he gets an iou for it lol

im not good at buying for adults in general tbh
Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T
  • I got the other half the Tassimo T20 from Argos when this was on offer and used the £20.00 voucher to order T-discs off the Tassimo Website. I got him some Latte mugs from Dunelm for the bargain price of £1.49 and some random cups from the Charity shop that where too cute to pass up. Also got him some Borders biscuits that where on offer at Morrisons to go with the coffee's.
and for his extra little bits I got him some new york deli Nuts BOGOF from waitrose, a £2.00 family guy t-shirt from HMV and a Billabong hat from Argos reduced in the sale to £3.00 as he lost his last one.
I'm thinking of wrapping all coffee related items together into one big box, like a coffee hamper, as I'm a little concerned he'll be able to work out what he's got if he opens the t-discs first!
    P.S I secretly wanted the coffee machine for myself so I guess I've done 2 in 1 ! haha x x
