More transparency was key. And now we have it. Less tricks equals fairer play on fares.
See the big picture, not just what is put in front of your noses to sniff at. Do you want fair play? Do you even believe in it in business? If you've been brought up to believe money is for fools who ain't you to lose and business to gain then I do understand. But it's wrong of course.0 -

However there are much larger forces at work on the Ryanair environment than their games with card admin fees so who knows. I was actually taken completely by surprise in the last 48 hours by the doubling of the cost of one part of my journey: Bloody Boris and Barclays have arbitrarily doubled the cost of my bike to the airport bus :mad:0 -

That's includes all the countries that I travel to with Ryanair!!0 -

As per my post and other posts, it cost me £2 to get my money off the card via an ATM (thanks to others help on this board). This is the only charge I ever paid for the card (the initial £6 was offset by a £6 voucher). And I have probably saved £150+ in the year I had the card. So, not sure its as bad as you're implying?I am sitting smuggly having beaten Ryanair at their own game for the whole of 2012 by having flown with them about 20 times in the year without succumbing to applying for their card Cash Passport card, AND without incurring a single fee
How? As I use the same route constantly I just reversed the return pattern and bought the tickets the other way round i.e. Abroad->UK->Abroad instead of UK->Abroad->UK using my trusty Neteller prepaid Mastercard. I appreciate most people couldn't do that but it is always worth checking the opposite way terms/price.0 -

In addition, as you say most people don't do the same route regularly so don't have this option anyway?
Just been looking at prices to the Med this July. Much easier to compare the likes of Ryanair, Easyjet and BA. Currently Ryanair (ex hold bags) are the most expensive of the three although because their website is not clear to me I am not sure if BA includes a hold bag or not (if they do then they are by far the cheapest!)0 -
Spend your total balance in one transaction (buying goods, e.g. petrol) and see if Raphael claim their 50p.0

Great idea. It works. I had forty something pounds something pence left on my card and with the 6 months inactivity charge only days away I went to a supermarket and bought just short of £50 goods there. I asked the checkout person to key in the amount I had left on the card and I paid the rest in cash. The transaction went through with no probs. Later, I checked my account online. Guess what? Zero balance. Sticking it to Ryanair at last.0
