Greyqueen - stir in a few squares of dark chocolate to your chilli about five minutes before end of cooking time. Very Mexican, chilli and chocolate, and adds a degree of richness to the finished dish.
Accompaniments - any or all of the following, according to what is lurking in your cupboards... rice, tortillas, grated cheese, crushed up crackers, tomato salsa, sour cream, home-made guacamole (if Magic Greengrocer has an odd avocado going spare). Enjoy! One life - your life - live it!0 -

Thanks for the top tips. I don't have any dark chocolate. I had some milk chocolate here a few hours ago, can't imagine where it went............... Have some leftover coleslaw and crackers so that's tonight sorted. Don't like avacado, tho, icky things IMO.
Gonna go give it a quick wind up. Will be a whiley yet but it's getting there. Should've got a wiggle on and started earlier but I was busy watching a volcano (as you do).Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Evening all
Mrs C, was thinking about you the other day as I hadn't seen you around for a bit, sorry to hear its not been going so well.
Was wondering about Katieowl too, anyone heard from her?
I've been reading when I can but just been so busy, tired and sore to contribute. Kitchen refit is still on going but some bright spark (me) decided a nice solid oak parquet floor would be nice......I've never fitted one before but i now consider myself an expert (lol). It does look fab but my god it's back breaking work, (pics on blog).
Sick of my house being upside down now and yearn for room to get the vacuum out without climbing over everything. It will be all worth it in the end.
To cream crackered to cook most evenings so lots of toast and salads have been consumed, good for the pocket and the waist line."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Hi Lyn
We managed to sort the car - insurance paid out and we found a newer car with not many miles on the clock for just a couple of grand more, so was good result if you can say that. Luckily we had the money to top up, otherwise not so good!
We have done a birthday party this year, and we are starting to visit the local sheltered housing once a fortnight, but having to replace the gearbox, then the powered steering and load-bearing thingy, plus the fridge-freezer has gone tech, so will need replacing too. As well as work on the gas, which had already been done but not correctly . OH wants us to drive it into the harbour, but we have committed for the season, and I would not want to give up yet.
I was wondering about Katie too...Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Hello all, will come back and read through at some point but just wanted to *wave*
Had a lovely catch up with an old friend who moved away last year today and heard that another friend who moved away is coming back in a few weeks
Got the local half marathon tomorrow so am going with a group of friends to watch a friend compete. We will see her off at the start and then attempt to see her at as many points as possible on the route. Our record (2 years ago) is 4 points, going to try and beat this!0 -

3 leeks
some chicken livers
some bacon
Went OUT in the car today - anybody got a brass band and a flag?
Over the Devils Beef Tub to Moffat for chips and ice cream. Sweltering heatwave of 11C too - but still snow on the top of the hills.0
