In these financially straitened times would it be possible for you both to band together and each pay half the Nursie fare to somewhere in the middle (of the UK and Australasia that is) and arrange for quarrantine there before finding her a new keeper, sorry employer? The only downside to this as an idea is that without either of you to keep the reins tight she may well become the next world dominating tyrant to emerge on the scene, however, I'm sure she would be benevolent if strict!!!
I'm sorry MrsLW, but I paid to get rid of her, I'll be damned if I'm paying to bring her closer. It's thanks to her we've been on lentils all month. And besides, the mid point between both of us is the middle east, and it couldn't be a good idea to drop a WMD (Nursie) there.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Morning all
I would gladly contribute to the Keep Nursie Out My House fund. The local Rugby club hasn't been the same since. It's so upsetting to see grown men crying hysterically at the smell of Dettol. My vote goes to getting Nursie to go green and dropping her off at one of the poles. We tell her that it's her job to stop them from melting and jobs done. Ok so there might be a few startled polar bears to deal with, but it has to be better than having to deal with the aftermath of her coming here again. I'm still finding items of an adult nature in the cupboard under the stairs and it's best for everyone if I keep what I found when I demolished the shed to myself...all I will say is the poor, poor man is still screaming at the sight of a pair of marigolds.
I'm on the ipad and it makes replying to everyone more difficult, so I'll do that later, but hugs all around ((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))
Today I have to get DH out of bed and to the supermarket before he gets called out. I might give in to temptation and buy one of the half price legs of lamb. I'm in work tomorrow for the first time so won't be cooking Sunday lunch. I might make something for lunch that the family can warm up and hopefully deliver to me so I get some proper food instead of a trip to Subway or Greggs. I got on my friend's scales yesterday and it was a big shock. I weigh about a stone more than I thought I did and I knew I was overweight to start with. I know I spend too much time sitting and playing about online and that needs to stop. I've just used it as a comfort blanket for too long and it won't be an easy habit to break.
That said I had better get my bottom in gear. Take care everyone xxxx0 -
fuddle - Am not sure but a generally accepted rule of thumb for notice in our area is pay period, so weekly pay means one weeks notice, monthly means monthly.
I have been up early to take DD7 to her dance exam and then came home to empty a shed and get rid of rubbish whilst we have a skip. I have managed that but my back has given up now so no more for today.
We are stalled on garden renovation as we are waiting on two more tonnes of soil to be delivered Monday.
Am hopeful we can fill the skip up by Monday though and have it collected before OH finishes work and realises I have got rid of more stuff.0 -
Thanks, I've been reading a fair bit online that states if you've worked more than a month you should give 1 weeks notice but also says each temp contract is different. I'll look at my contract when I get my bag.
I have seen a shoe store after part time assistants this morning. I went in for application form, filled it out and dropped it back in again. I am sorely tempted to hand in my letter of resignation on Monday but a bit scared about quitting when nothing concrete in the pipeline. I'm also scared of the wrath that will follow working there for a week knowing I'm leaving them and knowing I will walk out the door for interviews as and when. I can't believe I've gotten myself in this pickle.
Going to go apply for a supermarket chain now. I've found you can do it online.0 -
Don't beat yourself up about it FUDDLE you needed a job and went for what looked like a good deal, it turns out it wasn't but you couldn't have known that and if you do hand in your notice, every day you get through at the nursery is one less day to do!!! If you are the 8th person in a year to find the working conditions impossible they'll be used to staff handing in thier notice, they can't eat you pet, and thier opinion isn't the least bit important. Just keep looking for the right job and do your Childminding courses and be a happy you again, chin up, you'll be fine, Cheers Lyn xxx.
My bargain of the day - a really lovely enamel I*ea tea light holder from a CS for 50p!!!0 -
Hi toughies, loads to catch up on.
FUDDLE have you tried aldi or lidl, they pay really well and are part time.
Today is a mixed bag of weather, sunny and nice one week and the next is rain and wind. So no pegged out washing this afternoon.
I worked this morning, and it was so busy. One of our regular customers came in to say her husband had died Thursday, they had literally just landed at Gatwick after a weeks holiday abroad, as the departed the plane he died. It is so shocking, I suppose it can happen at any time. They fostered vulnerable teenagers, and today 5 that she had looked after were with her supporting her. They said she and her late husband changed their lives. Humbling thought really.
I used the discount voucher for aldi's bedding plants, and got 2 10 packs. These have been randomly planted in my garden, it should fingers crossed look nice this year. Weeded the gravel drive too and OH trimmed the hedge for the first time, so no frost please!!!
Todays daily mail had a magazine in about sewing and all next week you can get free patterns daily. Not sure if anyone else likes sewing.
Have a good day xBSC member 137

Yes, what can they do? Be horrible to me? That all?! I can take that eh? DH up for handing notice in too but it feels so wrong. Not decided yet. I do need to be happy again though.
Nutty, I'm on with aldi application nowit's a solid process not helped by the fact I'm using my phone to do it. I get my first pay on Thursday (6 weeks) so we're going to try get a tablet or netbook. That will make applying easier. Have laptops come down in price does anyone know? And micros0ft word... I bet that's nearly £100 by now!

FUDDLE If they're horrible to you just summon Monnagran, Mar and Me to the rescue, they'll find out where that gets them PDQ!!! Perhaps we should suggest to GQ that she sends them Nursie for a while? Oh yes, revenge is so sweet!!! Aren't I naughty!!! Lyn xxx.0
