Oh mrs VP that's carp, fingers crossed something else turns up quickly.
Cheapie - most of my ideas are [STRIKE]stolen[/STRIKE] borrowed from somewhere else so "borrow" away.
Thanks again to grandma for the pattern link for the crochet gloves, I've just made one, it's worked really well...loving the puff stitch. :T"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Oh Mrs VP, that is so horrible - and with no warning.
Take care of yourself and allow yourself to feel down for a wee bit. I really hope your OH can find something suitable before too long. I wish there was something more constructive I could do other than think positive thoughts for you.0 -
Mrs VP, That's bad news
sorry to hear it x
I am currently curled up on the sofa with the laptop, being pinned down by my lump of a mutt. He's been fine all week with the fireworks, but he hates football...DH is shouting at the tv and my poor marley is terrified! He's such a big wuss! (rottweiler/staffy cross).
Not long got back from tea/girly get together at my friends house. she's due to have a baby boy in 11 weeks and she let me touch and poke her belly until little Elvis moved and kicked me!!! (He's nicknamed Elvis for now, but I know she would really like to call him that despite not being an elvis fanher DH has said absolutely not). I also got cuddles from my other friends 7mth old daughter.
Broody? me? nooooo, well maybe just a little bit:rotfl:freecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:0 -
oh mrs vp so sorry to hear that.
my DS uses all sorts of different words "sick" eing the most popular. "thats really sick" means its good apparently. i have stopped my two using "spaz" as, personally i find that deeply offensive.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Mrs VP - sending a huge amount of v positive vibes for the best of all possible jobs to be just round the corner for your DH.
Mean Marie - don't know what to suggest. It is quite a hike isn't it?
Made a massive pot of spicy veg soup today. There's just the 2 of us so we'll be eating it for daaaaays. Also made arrabiatta as a cheapy tea as we've had a lot of chicken lately so about time we had a veggie meal.
Out to a concert tomorrow night so just a quick tea before that. Soup (of course!) and then fish finger club sandwiches I think. They're so fab. I would never have thought of having them in toast with lettuce if I hadn't seen in in a pub menu!
Off to bed now with my book. It's cold tonight but we've clipped the two duvets together now as the winter weight and I love it because it is so warm and heavy.
Good sleeps all.

(((Hugs))) Mrs VP, hopefully he will get something soon.
Well I had a soak in the bath this afternoon, strolled with the dogs and went to Ikea. OH got his hotdogs (bribery for coming with me just in case my back spasmed). Had a tootle round, couldn't find any throws the right colour and material, couldn't find solar lamps and didn't fancy a coffee. Did however find lamp shades to match my curtains for my standard and table lamps which have been shadeless for most of the last year! That was all! I even resisted the HUGE round candles as I have a massive box of random candles to make a dent into before buying any more. OH was shocked (didn't even pick up a yellow bag on the way round).
Am now curled up in bed with the electric blanket on to try and soothe some aches, hopefully tomorrow will be more productive, got loads of house work and winter prep to do, just need a few days of feeling good and motivated to do them!0 -

What a crazy world we live in, DSS is totally confused now and so am I. I wouldn't be a teacher for all the tea in China as I dread to think how many times they have to walk this line. Just hope they don't take the easy route and tell off the good kids.

Mrs VP - so sorry for you and your DH. It's horrible any time of year but you feel it more this time of year. Hope something turns up soon. Sending hugs.

Mrs VP that's a terrible way to tell a staff member his job is gone. But go to bed and get a good sleep and wake up tomorrow rested and then start the fight back.
Marie, for that kind of money every month he'd be better off saving up himself or paying up a funeral plan - that's an awful lot of life insurance!0
