Dreading that stage Tawny.
My youngest has started saying 'oh nuts' when something goes wrong (she's 4) I said who says that? Everyone mam. Crumbs, although she isn't swearing she may as well be saying 'oh b0ll)cks'... to us adults. To the 4 year olds they're not saying that at all.
I'm trying to get her to say oh bother instead but it's not working.0 -
DSS has come home and his teacher has sent for him and she apologised to him.
What a crazy world we live in, DSS is totally confused now and so am I. I wouldn't be a teacher for all the tea in China as I dread to think how many times they have to walk this line. Just hope they don't take the easy route and tell off the good kids.

Good evening everyone!!! Had a lovely day with eldest DD, her friend and zara aged 18mths. We went for tea n toast as a treat in the pub, zara stole the show by being all cute...ahhhh. And we window shopped, was nice to wander and chatter.
Have popped into work, and spoke to another collegue - she said she is glad i am staying!! and tomorrow we are working together so 6 hours to put the world right, and make everything ok. I explained what had happened and she agreed that between us we would sort out so we both get some time off to have with our familes. Maybe I should have asked before the interview last week.
So i have just cooked some tea for everyone, and im feeling happier. Thankyou to everyone for the replies, It was nice to hear others opinions and what they would do.
Need to go sort out some tea, have a good evening everyone.BSC member 137

Evening all
Sounds like a lot of down and troubled people on here again.....huge hugs to all, excuse the flour, I've been making pasties.
Got all the housework all done this morning, went into town and DH had a bit of a funny turn so got him home and opened the front door to some sort of surreal bird carnage. Got DH to bed and then spent nearly 2 hours cleaning up the mess....I love my cats, I really do but honestly....like I needed that!!
Did manage to get my wreath finished (pics you know where), pleased with it. Got DH up and showered (again) and teas in the oven. Just waiting for DDs to come on home then it's a jimjam, glass of wine and light a fire, night.
Thanks for the sleeping bag advice and link Yesterday, a great help, I've found something similar locally and I'm going to have a chat to the manager to see if he's going to do me a deal seeing as its for a good cause."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Evening all.
Am fall-on-my-face tired so prolly won't be around much but just wanted to get my MSE fix.
:hello::hello: Hello and welcome sevenup01 and MrsMortenHarket, lovely to have you de-lurked. Adore that that cat's name is Jerrry with three "r"s.
Softstuff, it never rains but it blinking pours, eh? Bet you'll be glad to see the back of 2012.(((hugs)))
jem132 You should be able to unblacken that aluminium pan by boiling a strong solution of vinegar in it. Maybe chase the last of the blackness off with a brillo pad.
In an earlier version of my life I used to tart up old household goods esp saucepans for resale at bootfairs this way and it bought them up a treat. If you're going to brillo pad a saucepan, don't do round and round in little circles, follow the curve of the pan so as not to leave marks.
In the way of the bizarre co-incidences which often affect life, I am currently boiling a viegar solution in the bottom of my stainless steel saucepan, the base of a 3 tier steamer which I use all the time.It suffered a wee accident yestereve when I got so engrossed in this thread I may have boiled it dry. So, after it hd cooled, I put washing up liquid and hot water into it and let it stand until this afternoon, where it came almost perfect with a wee bit of scrubbing with a sponge scourer.
However, as I have been using the pan with just water in the base, and the veggies inc tatties in the steamer above, I'd gradually accrued a limescale tidemark (we're a very hard water area) and am doing the vinegar boil to take that away.
I've had this pan since about 86-87 and it's brilliant.
If you haven't got vinegar, you can use something else acidic like apple peels as the acid in the fruit will dissolve a bit of the aluminium off. This is why you shouldn't cook acidic stuff in alu pans, of course.
Had an early start and thus an early finish today so was able to scoot to the lottie for 30 mins and then off to the Magic Greengrocer for some bargains and to touch base with some of my fave c.s. and chat with the assistants.Being as I'm such a classy lady, I'm known in all the most upmarket places in town, don'tcha know.
Hope everyone has a good evening and something tasty for their tea. GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
