Fuddle if the person that interviewed you was not the manager I would be tempted to find out the name of the manager and send a letter of complaint along with copies of the letter and your cv. It is entirely possible the person who sent the letter is doing this on the side. They do not sound very well educated either or you would never have received a letter like that.

My father was a very violent nasty
man and my mother divorced him when I was in my early teens. She married a man who almost worshiped the ground she walked on but a few years later she left him, divorced him and married a man like my father but not physically violent as far as I know. Some women just do not get it.

Can I ask for ideas re healthy home made biscuits ? Am fedup of not having anything nibbly. I don't like ordinary biscuits. I'm thinking of fruity nutty seedy things :)

There's recipe's on other threads here Mardatha for Twinks & Hobnobs - I make one of them regularly, can't remember which one but its the one with porrige oats & its lovely.
I've tried a few variations to the recipe too - ground & stem ginger (lovely) & peanut butter. Both worked pretty well
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

VJ's Mum - re the screening - I had my first one aged 49 and 4 months. When I got the appointment letter I rang to point out that i wasn't 50 yet. Like you, I was slightly indignant!

They explained that there was a rota for the different GPs' surgery's patients to be screened, and that I was being invited for a screening as I was "in my 50th year", otherwise I'd have to wait another three years and not be screened until i was 52.

Not sure whether that means if I'd been a year younger I wouldn't have been screened until I was 51, mind you.

Mardatha - Twinks are lovely and you can add fruit or choc chips too. Just search Twinks on MSE rather than googling - I seem to remember a poster last year googled Twinks and got some rather shocking results. :)

ETA - we are a fair few regular posters MIA, hoping everyone is ok??

Am up to eyes in cupcakes, muffins jelly and brownies today ready for tomorrows party of the decade!! :)

Hi all - just had some horrid news. My neice 39 has just had a stroke & been rushed to hospital. My darling SiL & BiL are so devastated as they lost their younger daughter some years ago.
Niece has a 12 year old & a lovely caring hubby - they are such a lovely little family so positive vibes will be much appreciated

How about these? http://www.abelandcole.co.uk/recipes/breakfast-cookies described as Healthy Breakfast Cookies. You could adapt the ingredients to suit what's in your cupboard.
