Loadsa hugs from me, I know that rubbish feeling all too well. Some days are just the pits.
But like all things both good and bad, this too shall pass.0 -
Sending my best too, virtual hugs but meant just as sincerely...not meant in a flippent way but tomorrow is another day, I've had one my days so can identify with you..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Been missing in action recently. Been busy but not like you would expect.
I went for my interview a few days ago. Stupid me thought I was going to a carers office. No, I was headed right into an employment agency and what a shock/anger evoking experience that was. To be looked down upon by a suit wearing person is not at all nice. To be made to feel like she was doing me a favour by speaking to me was gall inducing and to be asked pathetic but obviously clever angled questions (all holier than thou) about a job/experience I did for 10 years by someone who hasn't even stepped out of a stiletto heel... You all know me and can imagine how annoyed I was.
Upshot is, she'll pass my details into the carers company. I should find out today if I've been accepted for interview.
When you apply for a job, get a phone call and interview over the phone, told 'you sound perfect, come on into the office tomorrow, we'll sign the paperwork and get the ball rolling' I don't think it's too unreasonable to think 'eeeeeh I think I might just have a job here'. I went into that office ready to sell myself and when I walked out with my pride hurt, treat like a stereotypical unemployed 'for 5 years' person as opposed to mum and housewife, aw toughies, I was a mess.
Some how or another though, I found myself blagging a place on a care in the community training/information session. Don't ask me how it why lol I just did! It was interesting! It's something to say at interview anyway.
So awaiting a phone call today. I hope the carers agency does like me. It's ran by a former nurse who has exacting standards apparently. That was meant as a stick to beat me with considering I have no social care experience I'm sure... I take it as someone I would like to work for as I have exacting standards in who I work for and how I treat people... unlike some.
Sorry, just a really unpleasant experience made worse by expecting to walk out with a uniform and work hours.
I shall know for next time.0 -
Hi Fuddle
I had that many times when I tried to get back in employment after my divorce, eventually I was told that the problem was my age, now I know I am really ancient & you are still a slip of a girl, but some of the agency's consider anyone over 25 as too old to be interested in!

Hi fuddle, I've had that experience before with agencies.
Best of luck on the job hunt0 -
I really don't like squirrels. I don't know why. I think it's the way they move - too jerky and quick. Missing my wee cat and wishing I had another one, but the RV won't have anything furry in the house.0

Morning Toughies, pleased to report that the invalids in the lurcher household are feeling much more the thing this morning, the lurcher seems to have regained all his ping and perhaps 5% extra which he is applying universally to life and everything in it at the moment, oh dear, look out world!!!!!
FUDDLE so cross on your behalf, that must have been the biggest dissapointment, hopefully it will still lead to the job you need so much. Hugs to you little one, stay strong and it WILL happen, you must believe it!!!

Very cross on your behalf  especially as you probably have more intelligence and caring in a fingernail than some people have in their unduly cossetted bodies.
Have a few minutes before setting off for a blood test and maybe trip to weekly market for really nice eggs and veg. Since using the local butcher I don't feel tempted by any of the meat in the supermarket - even YSEven dds have noticed the difference in the quality of the meat and it seems to go much further as well as being tastier.
DD and DH will be watching out for an AF delivery while I am out so hope nothing goes wrong.
I want to use up the ham shank I cooked yesterday (DH picked at about a third of it while it was cooling down.) I found a pasta type recipe with ham and cheese sauce so might try that and also make up a small potato and onion cheesey ham bake.
Fancy a leek and potato soup later especially if weather is going to turn colder and DH has been nagging about apple crumble so could do that tonight.
Hug to all and hope we all find things get better (or less worse soon)."This site is addictive!"
