She sounds delightful Mrs L ( well she would be with you for a Mum) - you're going to have to post a little piccy of her 'cos we all love a bride :)
I'm doing Liver & Onions tonight - real comfort food - haha. My little daffy's are poking their noses through but have a long way to go yet. I have had some Cyclamen & Iris in flower in pots/baskets but they are in sheltered spots - roll on spring & planting the veggie plot!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Everyone, there is a fluffy yellow ball lighting up my garden!!! It is quite warm in a cozy corner in the garden, out of any slight breeze. Wish i had managed to make a load of washing so it could have been pegged out.

Had to restart more anti biotics today, adcess has returned. So i have rather dodgy stomach again, and i have 8 hours at work to get through. Have to pack some lunch for later - not sure if i am going to fancy much or not.

Right must get this large butt into action. Hope you all have a good day

But googled a Gibson roll, gorgeous!

Volunteering agency have contacted me already asking if thy can pass my details onto mind. I would so like to run a toddler group. It's only a couple of hours on a Friday. It'll give me a purpose as well and make me feel so good about doing something so useful. I maybe should be looking into getting work experience in hospitals but I'm hoping that working with Mind and volunteering will say something about me. Apparently, submitting your uni application for Sept '14 is done pretty much straight away so there is a real chance that I can be applying again oct of this year.

Right, sorry. I know I'm boring you all. I'm ok and thank you everyone for your guidance and support. :)

Off out to walk the pup in sunshine and then email the lady who do the courses that mccollach told us about. Still unsure what to take but I think I will do medicine handling first as this is about gearing myself on the nursing direction.

I have to be honest, I'm wondering whether children's nurse will be mores thing or whether I should continue down learning disability route. So... maybe the refusal was a good thing.
  • Good girl FUDDLE , up and at 'em eh? You're not boring us, just sharing which is lovely!!! Have a lovely sunny walk with the Alfie puppy, I'm just off with Docky to meet his pal Charlie the retriever and walk through the woods and across the common. It's jolly chilly here still and we thought we'd get out opf the wind for a while and then home for a lovely cuppa and the woodstove, enjoy pet, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Good to see some seemingly good news whilst I have been away...I seem to have lost three or four days thanks to my cold...It's knocked me for six. You do miss not having anyone around when you are poorly.

I haven't eaten anything. But may try and eat some marmite on toast later...possibly something simple like scrambled eggs...

If a cold can do this I'm glad I had a Flu Jab last year. This was bad enough...I don't think I could have done any more than I have, vitamins, drinks, paracetemols and my meds...

I have heard that it is going around.

I have managed to get my washing upto date and now I feel that I can finally get out of bed, I'm going to put my bedding through so it is all clean and fresh for tonight.

What a lovely attitude Lyn. I had a conversation with 3 11 yr old boys last night about who has what mobile phones in their class (Yr 6 primary school). Some of them have iPhones, Blackberries, Samsung Galaxies. My DS has just got a phone for his 11th birthday because that's when we'd planned he could have one, as when he starts secondary school he will be catching the bus 10 miles away. But his is a cheap PAYG phone and I HOPE he knows why - not just that we can't afford more but that it's ridiculous to pay £600 for a phone (IMO - apologies to those who did pay that much for a phone, horses for courses and all that). That stuff is not that important. Lessons like that, and not getting into debt, are just as important as teaching them how to cook and wash clothes I reckon.

Quite often these phones aren't paid for, it is sometimes more economical to get a contract as the monthly bill is cheaper than PAY G and the phone comes free.

I was paying 35p a minute for calls and 10p for texts so it soon mounted up. I get 1000 minutes and 4000 texts for £16 a month plus a swanky new phone thrown in. It was a no- brainer for me.

When kids want to message their mates and chat, the top up doesn't last 5 minutes. BlaCkbErry has a really good deal on this with BB messenger and and the kids can BB message to their hearts content for I think its £5 a month

The trouble comes if you can't afford the monthly payment on the contract as most of them run for 24 months.
  • Glad you're feeling better POPS don't go and try to do too much too soon or you'll make yourself feel awful again. I don't know if you like the stuff but the best thing I find for keeping me going during a cold is cups of hot Bovril. I know it's relatively expensive but lasts a long time in the jar and really gives you a pick me up without having to eat when you don't feel like it,Stay in the warm and look after yourself, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Funnily enough I have some Bovril in the house in my store of food. I may give that a try, I think mine could be the chicken flavour...I said that I would have Marmite...I buy the SM brand its much the same and at least £1 cheaper.

I will still take it easy and not do too much. As long as I stay here the SM is virtually on my doorstep.

Re courses. I got semi swamped with pmms, I wish work had me on commission. They cleared me to tutor one of the courses but I don't think they have enough work at the moment - I wonder what will happen after the latest rush.
I have been sent an application form by email which I can forward to anyone pmming me their email addy, if you are genuinely interested.
You can only do one course at a time, but they are open to organisations - that was what they were originally designed for.
The age limit is 19 and you can't be in full time education. Open Uni is fine though as it isn't FT.
Phew... now to copy and paste this elsewhere!
