Mcculloch what are the chances you'll be my tutor?

The charity got back to me re volunteering. They emailed me an application form so off I went to the library to print, fill out, scan then email it back. The lady who deals with volunteers is off until Monday though so won't hear anything for a little while.

I decided to study mental health awareness with mculloch's courses.

Again, I've gone from being really upset to being refocused.

Gorgeous evening here, very chilly but such lovely sun glowing trough the window. We're going to get beautiful evening sun here :)

I'm not tutoring the course you are doing, so you'll be OK, lol. I'm actually hoping to do that one myself. It looks really good.

Good early evening my gang of lovelies. I googled Gibson roll too ;) very pretty.

Spent most of the day just tiding away bits and bobs, took the goggies out alone (Ds twisted his ankle yesterday and is the walking wounded) bit nervous doing that since I fell last year, but at least he was home to raise the alarm quickly if I went MIA and it wasn't raining or slippy. We have lots of market leftovers from yesterday, divided up between me and the two DD so no need to cook again. Some other beany thing you might enjoy is what we made this week. Black Turtle beans - small black beans about 1/3 the size of a kidney bean (came from Mr T) made into a chilli, with onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, chilli and tomatoes we topped it of with a sweet potato mash (with some cheese on top) was very tasty if I say so myself.

I am freaking out a bit about my fasting blood test tomorrow morning, I shall take a bite to eat with me as the GP suggested, but the MERE THOUGHT that I can't eat after 9pm is giving me anxiety and I've been starving hungry all day - what a daft bat I am! Not in the slightest bit bothered about the needle bit, just the no food bit :(

We had six eggs today... a couple might be from yesterday, but glad to see the girls are starting to lay again. It's been an eternity since we had eggs!!!

It's absolutely freezing here today. There's been a cold 'mist' all around all day. Can't see the other side of the estuary at all. I've manage to survive without the fire on so far, but think I'm going to get it going now!

There was an interesting Guardian link that I saw on FB I'm linking it here...the more widely shared the better. Fingers crossed that this may be a way forward, and that other housing associations have the cahones to follow suit...

I have to be honest, I'm wondering whether children's nurse will be mores thing or whether I should continue down learning disability route. So... maybe the refusal was a good thing.

Depends if you want to work with children? Paediatric nursing will look after children whereas LD is more focussed towards adult care.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Quite often these phones aren't paid for, it is sometimes more economical to get a contract as the monthly bill is cheaper than PAY G and the phone comes free.

I was paying 35p a minute for calls and 10p for texts so it soon mounted up. I get 1000 minutes and 4000 texts for £16 a month plus a swanky new phone thrown in. It was a no- brainer for me.

When kids want to message their mates and chat, the top up doesn't last 5 minutes. BlaCkbErry has a really good deal on this with BB messenger and and the kids can BB message to their hearts content for I think its £5 a month

The trouble comes if you can't afford the monthly payment on the contract as most of them run for 24 months.

Thanks Bluebag we may well go that route next birthday, but we wanted to get him something really cheap (makes us sound awful!) to get him used to carrying it round and generally taking care of it. He doesn't call anyone really just a few texts so I think the initial top-up will last a while yet.
  • POSESSION I have the most basic mobile phone in the world. It allows me to text, make and take phone calls, end of phones abilities!!! It cost under £20 from an O2 shop a couple of years ago and they still do a basic model which I have to admit is a lot smarter looking than mine, DD1 got one to take abroad as all we do is text each other then due to the cost. Hope that helps, Cheers Lyn xxx.

How cheap do you want to go ?

    How old is he ?

This is not a bad phone.

It looks like a blackberry, so nobody would know it was cheapish.

There are cheaper ones but they look cheaper.
