Possession the recipe said to put frozen peas in the soup and I think it effected the taste and texture but yeah, lots of slim chicken strings. I'm not going to make chicken soup again. I do that when I fail in cooking, anything else I don't let beat me but if it turns my stomach once I can't do it again.
Just found a letter from Friday, council tax. Although not out bill for 2013 just yet it is our new grading... Lower than previous house so saving us £25 per month!
DH is going through a bit of a midlife crisis at 36 I think. Heard a 'boy racer' with loud music roaring, tutted as I glanced out the window an to my horror it was DH. This beating, rapping Jay-Z 'tune' accompanied by DH slowly rocking his head back and forth, t-shirt collar up like some boy from the hood, sat in an estate car with yellow light atop for when he's on site... pittling meself laughing! Oh the shame! lol I went out with my slippers on and ushered him in, turned his collar down and told him how old he was and said you won't want a cuppa then 'bro? The girls horrified because I went out in me slippers! Sat down with his tea grumbling that he didn't get the practical fish keeping magazine because it cost £4.10 and didn't even have a spine. poor bloke is mixed right up, doesn't know whether he wants gold medallions or a tweed cap!
Have a lovely evening. Shower calls and then Call the Midwife for me x0 -

That vegetarian site is...different:rotfl::o:eek::p:Dany of these would do but some of the recipes seem worth considering. Isn't funny how the Human body can be looked at without seeing it sexually. I barely noticed;)perhaps that's why nudest colonies work?
Anyhow, that's a whole different topic...
I used to find colds returned as night time came back but dare I say drinking warm drinks, taking my vitamins and staying under the duvet I seem to be shaking this one off in double quick time...I'll regret saying that.
I realise more than ever I have in recent years even before being alone been eating more vegetable based meals. Meat is rationed and made to stretch over a few meals. I really need to up the amount of fruit I eat. That is what I waste the most. But if I eat cereals or porridge it gives me an excuse to add fruit.
Its also time I got back to eating more fish again even if again I stretch it over a few meals...like taking salmon, flaking it and adding it to perhaps a potato patti, there are many great recipes out there.
Sometimes I wonder if I can really make them any cheaper though...but I may give it a go..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Am enraged I am still full of cold and struggling. OH has "hurt" his back, to which I am showing any sympathy having learnt in the past that if I show any sign of sympathy he will stay off work for months on end.
DD18 decided to invite her new boyfriend to dinner, OH was working, both boys are stresses as tomorrow is school etc. OH arrives home from work, winds up kids, sits eats dinner than sleeps for an hour. Tried to wake him several times and he just got nasty, had a go at DS14 for complaining about his snoring.
Then proceeded to rant about how he was tired and had a sore back, DS14 pointed out that I have that all the time - to which he replied yes but your mother doesnt work does she.
Now I appreciate I dont go out to work but I do manage to fit more into my day than most people, last week I was talking to a friend who has two children and a full time job, we compared our week and she said when she found out all that I fit in with school runs, appointments, PTAs, meetings etc that she couldnt fit in half the stuff I do even when she didnt work.
Its the fact that DD18 boyfriend is sitting there and has heard every word of this - what a great first impression0 -
Thanks for the links Possession...I really must try and get back to doing some baking...If I don't do it more than a few times a week there is probably no reason why it should be costly and use a lot of energy. Its also another interest even if there is only me. And if there are too many of something I guess I can reduce the amounts given by using a kitchen scale and a calculator."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Oh fuddle that so makes me laugh, my OH is 48 and exactly the same. He bought for me, a fiesta st. Its for him really. Boyracer waiting for his zimmer frame!!
Had a nice day doing nothing. Watched a borrowed skyfall, very good film. Just had a pork sandwich and a slice of swiss roll for afters. Used up a sachet of simmer soup, ate it and it was use by march 2011!! feel fine so far.
Have just had the important chat with OH, we urgently need to be more money savvy. Have decided to use some tips and start a list for food cupboard lists. Found 11 tins of baked beans in 2 cupboards. And strangly a tin of hot dogs!!!
On a more random note, nextdoor have just started DIY, by drilling.... They have been home all day, why now??? Its bloomin annoying too. Can they wait till tomorrow while im at work, i leave at lunch time when they get up.GGGGGGGGGGRRRRR rant over.BSC member 137

Nutty - you clearly live on the other side of my next door neighbours who have just done the same here. My head already feels as though there is a pneumatic drill in there - this is not helping0

Oh kidcat, hugs...I hate to say this but your OH sounds a lot like my ex in some ways.
I think I would have slapped him over the not working comment...maybe you don't get paid, but in every which way you work, and work damn hard!!
Fuddle, cooking is a case of trial and error, I don't think anyone, unless it's a fluke gets a first time recipe success. I have found chicken stock is like dishwater on its own, I am sure someone on here told me to reduce it and then season according to taste. IMO, chicken stock needs a lot of love and tender care to turn out half way decent...I also use a stock cube if necessary,, as well as using it for carrot and corriander soup, well almost any soup really, including lentil rather than basic chicken soup. Practice makes perfect.
I'm 60 this year and play music really loudly in the car, singing and bopping alongespecially if The Boss comes on. Booooorrrrrnnnnn In the UUUUUUSSSSSSSAAAAAAA, I was BBBBBOOOOORRRNNNN in the USAAAAAAAA...:rotfl:
