Ok ta - it doesn't seem to be rising though, it's in front of the fire and I'm hovering over it like a new baby lol

Sorry bit of a late reply, been so busy today. I hardly ever use a tin, so your loaves should be fine -just make the shape you want. I also find that this cold weather stops the dough from rising so quickly. I usually pop a piece of oiled clingfilm over it while it is proving. Helps to keep it snug and stop a skin forming on the dough which might stop it rising so much;) HTH

Huge hugs to both Katie and Unixgirl and to anyone else having a rubbish day.

Tina the phrase about 'organising a party at which to get inibreated at a venue which produces ale' springs to mind!

Well the brown envelope arrived this morning confirming what I though - DS has been awarded Mid rate care DLA til 2023 - my initial reaction was great, won't have to fill in forms again for a while! Then it struck me that if he's got a 10 year award even the DWP don't think it's going to get any easier! It seems really ungrateful of me when I know how hard it is to complete the forms and also the risks of it not getting awarded again etc - but this has really knocked the stuffing out of me. It oght to be good news but all I can think is that if DS (and by extension DD, who only got a 3 year award but that was before the Joubert's diagnosis so as based on global delay which is much more wishy washy) are going to continue to need his level of care am I ever going to be able to go back to work, even part time?? and in that case why am I busting a gut trying to fit in an OU degree along with everything else? Sorry to moan - I'll be ok tomorrow I'm sure, once I've got my head round it.

Will just have to look forward to nice dinner - we're having our usual 'special meal' which is the firt hing DH ever cooked for me on our first Valentines when we has just got together. So tonight will be steak, jacket potatoes - the ones where you sccop the middles out, mix with garlic and herb cream cheese andput back in and grill - and sweetcorn. Poshed it up a bit this year with an insalate caprese for starter and some (shamefully) bought lemon tiramisu puddings. We've got a nice bottle of fizz left over from wedding pressies to go with it.

    Take care all. X

Never let a piece of paper dictate your own personal future. You are a mum and you are a mum caring for children with special needs but you are still an individual. Whatever the future holds, whatever opportunities come along you're better off with a degree than not. I think, especially with OU degrees that it shows the spirit and determination of a person. Anyone, for whatever reason, will think wow, she has had so much in her plate but still done this... For herself x

His horse eat scare? Does it include packs of mince from supermarket fridges, you know, the fresh stuff? I don't like the idea of being duped but the more I'm reading of health risks the more I am gettino very angry. Processed mistakes I can understand, even though its so very wrong but if I find out fresh mince has been contaminated I will have to think about sourcing my meat elsewhere. Do you think this scare will be good for community butchers or do you think confidence in the meat industry will turn us to veganism?

I don't have a problem with horse meat per se - but like you Fuddle - its the deception that gets to me. Anything for a quick buck. I heard yesterday someone say 'Well if you only pay ££ for Burgers/ReadyMeal what do you expect. I expect a cheaper cut of meat but I do expect the labelling to be correct so I have a choice of whether to buy it or not. I do think the local butchers will benefit & also the Farmers Markets. I just think people will pay more but buy less & maybe that's also not a bad thing.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

I know, but at 37 I wonder if I am too old. I am getting broodier by the day and each chance just gets snatched from us (i.e. me getting paid off then it taking months to get another job).

sorry just a wee bit fed up.

I always find the completion of the DLA forms totally soul destroying and am still recovering from recently filling in my renewal.

These DLA forms do describe you but they dont define you and you will find a way when your kids are at school x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Hugs to Unixgirluk ((((hugs)))) The biological clock has a strong tick. but I've always thought women need to have kids for them, if they are desperate for them, not cos' they've got the 'right' man, perfect situation whatever. Because all things can change, and it's not always to do with you, and your choices. fate/circumstances etc all intervene (or should that be consipire ;))

DS is sorted thanks to DD who frogmarched me round town. I got him a silver chain which was what I was sort of what I thinking of, but if it's not long enough...they can take care of it in the shop by inserting a few inches...cheaper than me buying a whole long chain, because it was marked at the price it came in at - and the identical one next to it, which was a later edition to the stock was nearly double

I've only seen OH while I had DD in tow so he's still not commented, TBH I don't think he will. What's he going to say??? This isn't solvable. But I guess at least it's been mentioned. Again.
    Hey Ho.
