The vegan diet is one I have seriously been thinking of adopting. The heath benefits and less fat was the main one. Shegar 60% surely that can't be an 'accident' mix-up, mistake. I bet this practise has been going on since the birth of ready made frozen decades ago.

From a girl who was brought up on smash and hotdogs I detest the idea of convenience/mass produced ready made but often eat burgers/sausages out of habit without a second thought. If that's not a contradiction then I don't know what is.

So tonight I shall read up on everbear strawbs and vegan diet

jps it's for the inside. Thanks so much for the knowedge ;)

Fuddle a head's up about the everbear's, you don't get as much fruit off 'em as you would a main crop, also you don't get as many runner's baby strawberry plant's , which is why I grow both main and everbear's.hth

Oh kidkat, sorry about the news.

Regarding the rolands - had me in stitches and then I remembered the times when I would walk outside the back door and straight into the line of dead ones which the dog and cat of the yard had lined up as proof they should get the cream lickings.

If you forgot it was a squishy reminder. However with horses, sheeps, coos, poultry and so on it was a fact of life. Couldn't bait as there was far too much wildlife.

Also the time I pulled a tarp of the hay stack we had to make temporarily - and a HUGE roland jumped out of the hay at me.

    Hugs all

    Rant alert :mad::mad::mad::mad:

The family met today and have planned the funeral for the one day in the next two weeks I cant do as OH is working and cant have the time off - its also half term week:mad::mad:

They could have chosen any day in either week but actually chose that one, and it hurts that anyone could actually do that to someone else.

My mother called to gloat at me earlier, and I told her I wasnt happy but then said I had to go out to school meeting. She then got my dad to call me whilst I was in the meeting, so I shouted at him too.
I am just fed up that they will call me during meetings and appointments without any thought at all - they really value what I do so little.

He has since called back and offered to sit - but its a double edged sword, if he does it she will spend the whole funeral wailing about her sacrifice of her support to enable selfish me to go.

Its not a price I care to pay, I appreciate my presence isnt wanted and am taking the hint.
I have told my dad I want them all to stay away from me as as far as I am concerned I would never treat anyone this way.

Its also brought home that by blocking my using anyone else to sit for the kids they have effectively isolated me and have methods of control - this stops now. I am going to attempt to find ways around having them sit at all.
If they want a relationship with their grandchildren they will have to make an effort and simply visit when they are invited. last week a friend offered to collect DS14 from his group when I was on a course - my dad had a fit and insisted he would do it - no more of this behaviour, we have given them way too much power I think.

Sorry I feel like I am constantly crying all over you all, I promise I will stop this now.

Don't you be promising anything Miss Kidcat. You cry over us all you need to.

Listen, controlling mothers. I'm only just learning about them from our friend Byatt. I am afflicted with the same thing. :( although, nothing as horrendous as what I have just read.

It reads just so callous. I just wish you could go and not worry about a thing. I want you to just think about the quiet time together you fought so hard for. That you're appreciated in this life, that there are people here who have your back. I wish I could sit with your children kidcat. I wish for you to be able to go without allowing your family to 'win' and by that I mean in a way that they cannot have an opinion on, not judge nor say anything negative about. Thinking of you

Oh dear Kidcat :( what a bunch!!!

Sometimes I'm extremely glad that I have an extremely small family!!! (There's really only me and mum, apart from OH and our kids)

I've had an intensely frustrating day. Had some paper work to sort out, which included opening some post I'd slung to one side last week because I knew what it was.... BIG MISTAKE

First off I opened what turned out to be the bill before last from the company that supply our oil. I pay monthly by standing order, and they want me to increase the payment from a hair raising £80 a month to an eye watering £100. OH says we don't use that much oil, but last year we did use £1200 worth

Second thing I opened turned out to be our insurance renewal for the year. They want £602!!!! Now I had a poke about online, and made a couple of phone calls, it's high because I have pub. liability cover for the B&B...last year it wasn't more than £500 I'm sure....infact I think it was LOADS less but I've not had a chance to dig out the papers, and I got a quote off someone online for about £500 and I told her it was far too much, as I would expect the house to only be about £250ish, without the B&B cover. To prove my point I ran the figures just for the house through the Meercat People and guess bloody what???? THE SAME COMPANY who are currently insuring us come out 'top' and say they'd charge £180 to cover my house, same rebuild and contents cover...so in effect then they want to charge me £400 for my PL??? I do not think so.

I've also paid the insurance up front every year since I moved here, as I've been able to stash a bit in an insurance account each month, but the last year has been too strapped to do that, so I was going to have to do monthly....Can't stick another £50+ on the monthly payments, especially as I've just upped it £20 for the oil....

I'm too cross and have a sore throat to tackle them today, but I'll get on to it tomorrow. There is absolutely NO POINT in me continuing to do B&B if I can't get that down. OH's building PL is only about £100 a year, and he can do a darn site more damage than I can! I scarcely covered the expenses of the website, insurance, and advertising last year, I doubt we actually made any profit (I've not done the books yet) it will be a very small one if we did :(

I've been cold and miserable all day, the dogs haven't been out because it's chucked it down continuously, and the garden is flooded again....Grrrrr. That's all. Grrrrrr.

Katie can you take a separate PL policy? It may be cheaper to buy three policies rather than one or two.

    Fuddle thank you :)

Can you not do the PL separately? Our PL insurance for the catering business was certainly less than £100 and obviously it's different but it shouldn't be THAT different.
Kidcat I admit I can't see why they're doing this, and given all you did I would have expected a great deal better. But I'm always of the opinion funerals are for the living anyway. You paid your respects to your uncle before he died, not after. If you can find a way, all well and good.
