    Morning all

Have skimmed the last few days' posts, but can't remember all, so hugs where needed for those with poorly loved ones, if you've lost someone dear, bad jobs/work colleagues/family relationships, or good news too! :D

I'm leaving my job in a month, I'll really miss the folk I work with, but can't wait in another way, as mum seems to be needing us more. Her memory's not back to normal at all, and she's suggested we enable the power of attorney she set up as she's worried about lapses leading to money mistakes etc. :( I've to take her medication each day as she forgets what she's had when, can't even leave paracetamol as she took 8 tablet in less than 24 hours one day!

    Rant alert - sorry!
On top of that (which we don't mind doing cos she's my mum and we love her to bits!) eldest DD is pleading poverty AGAIN and asking for major bailout - we can't and won't do as we're skint too - but it's "doing my head in". What is it with some folk who can't/won't manage their cash properly, then expect bank of mum and dad to come to the rescue when they overspend on their social life and can't pay bills? Grrr!! *Deep breath...*

On a lighter note, it hasn't rained overnight and there's even a faint hint of the big yellow ball outside, which is making this stressed out wifey feel a tad better - sorry to whinge peeps! :rotfl:

Will pop back later and be more positive when I've had me brekkie! :D

    A xo

Cheaps, you know I adore you right? She does it because she thinks you will bail her out. I never had mam to bail me out but the banks did. I only learned...

But by going through that makes you learn and set you up for the rest of your life. Time to be cruel to be kind?

Good morning, I was too shattered to post yesterday. I helped my cousins clean the last stuff out of my aunty's house. we are fairly sure she saw the ark because the pieces of wood and junk we took to the tip must have originally been used in the building of it! It's all done now though, and I have all of hers and her sisters family photos. A treasure trove to be applied to my family tree so we can see what everyone actually looked like.

Kidcat Sorry to hear about your uncle, and about your mum's behaviour too. I hope you get to visit with him in peace.

Hope the day goes well for the rest of you. I will be making cakes (the tin is empty ) for the small boy, and cleaning, ironing, tidying as usual.

    Morning all

Is bright and breezy here and I slept for more than 4 hours last night! Amazing how a bit of sleep can make you feel so different.

Stilt - ouch to the buggy cost, will you be able to get funding for the entire thing?

Kidkat - hope you manage to see your Uncle and get everything sorted.

Cheapskate - deep breath and say "no" to your DD, as Fuddle says, cruel to be kind but she will learn from it (eventually). Sounds like you giving up work is the best thing for now with your Mum, it's lovely you can be there for her.

Collie - the new job sounds much better, good luck with it.

I brought a new feather duster (well synthetic duster on a stick) yesterday, I needed an extendable one to reach the nooks and crannies. I only realised I needed one when I noticed the kittens all paying a lot of attention to the ceiling, they could see the cobwebs fluttering in the breeze! Makes me sound like a dirty wotsit but I swear this house has a secret cobweb fairy that comes and puts fresh ones up overnight (she's in cahoots with the one spider that lives in the hall). Anyway, simple things....a 99p duster on a stick gave me a sense of smug satisfaction yesterday. Such fun on a Friday.......today I might go all out and pop some soda crystals done the plug holes!

  • Morning Toughies, bright and sunny today so a major washing event is taking place shortly (all the houndy towels that have seen mega use this winter)and I have every hope of getting it all dry today.

KIDCAT go in, make them let you in, be there for him whatever kind of fuss your Mum tries to kick up, do it for you!!!!!!! We are there with you, holding you in our hearts and sending you support at such a harrowing time, I pray his passing will be peaceful and give you some comfort for him. So sad that his son hasn't had a chance to come but it will help him to know you are looking after things, Bless.

WONDERCOLLIE well done!!!!! Good luck in your new post and I wish you a much happier life in the future.

SAVINGQUEEN lots of hugs coming your way too pet, sorry you've been feeling blue recently, I'm sending you some of my sunshine to make you feel better, always here if you need us, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Congratulations, and another going to say ouch, mine were 8 10, 8 6, 8 4 then 6 7 in that order, needless to say i sneezed the youngest out after the previous!

Hehehehe! Heavenleigh this baby was the sneeze - her big sister was 10pounds 10 ounces!

Kidcat (((hugs))) and i hope you get to see your uncle.
Wondercollie good luck with your new job.

My Uncle Happy has set me a challenge. Pass my driving theory test by the end of the month. EEEEK!!!!! I have the pc discs but i just cant seem to find the time to use them when i am not so tired that i cant make sense of them. But i really want to be able to drive and i even have my little fiesta all insured and ready to use. The actual lessons are great, Uncle says i am a very good driver which is funny because he normally insults women drivers. He is a lorry driver so sees a lot of bad driving.

    :) Hello everyone,

just popping by to say good morning (just in time!). Haven't had a chance to read new posts, the thread moves so quickly but will be back later on. Hope everyone's doing ok.

Lovely windy sunny day here so 2nd load of laundry on to take advantage. DH taken boys out with a football and scooter. Having a coffee before back to the usual.

Want to bake bread and biscuits today, have no munchables and the its the weekend! Need to do some cleaning/tidying, finish my volunteer application (just needs writing out - reads really well, proud of myself), start on my CV, help kids with homework, teach them how to clean/polish their own shoes (part of the grand plan to get the chores shared out a bit) and a load of other bits I can't remember now.

Then we are having fish pie for tea and our usual Sat icecream treat - boys get to load on sprinkles, sauce etc but only on Sats (or a special treat.) Having a family film night watching the original Starwars snuggled up on the sofa, cats will join us no doubt too.

    take care toughies

    Morning All,
Hugs to those having difficult times as many are especially sad family situations visiting loved one's in hospital.
