Byatt I had that same discussion with someone last week who took exception when I said that there had been a bedroom tax in private rents for years. My point was not that its ok for it to be on council houses too - more that there should have been more of an uproar earlier and we may have prevented this now.
Am so sorry I have commented on back posts, I have read all but decided to take my time before I comment, and now I cant remember who has shared what properly.
Its been a horrible day here with a training course that was useless - and I have nine more weeks or it!! Lady from group pestering me and our IT guy, was late to pick up DS14 as a result, he was upset.
Took him for lunch, didnt go to Ds8 assembly as school said he wasnt going, only to find he had gone after all and he was upset with me.
Then to top it off my mother is still huffing and puffing, she had the chance to see the kids today but wouldnt go, they havent noticed in all honesty - think she would be furious if she knew.
And I have just had a call to say my uncle has been raced to surgery - bowel issues, they didnt want to operate but something has happened and they didnt have a choice, apparently he has been in a wheelchair last two days as well - will be really upset if all my mothers shenanigans mean I missed a chance to say goodbye.0 -

I hope you get to see him Kidcat. ((((Hugs)))

Oh I forgot to say about DD. The trial went OK, they said do you think you'd like to work here, she said yes, BTW I'm pregnant. The lady said Oh how lovely. Fill in this form with all your details and give it back to me. She says they are waiting for HQ to tell them how many hours they can have someone for, and she'll call DD back. So I'm not sure really??? Until she hears back we don't know if it will amount to a proper job? Fortunately she has some helping out with a lady who is homeschooling and has a poorly back, as she's not entitled to a brass farthing of hard cash otherwise. The job centre told her there was no point signing on, as she wasn't entitled to anything, and she'd got 30 years to make her NI stamp up!!! They've filled in the forms for HB and CTB and now she has proof of being pregnant, they've filled in council housing forms too, as the landlord of where they are specifically doesn't want anyone with Kids or on Benefit  so chances are he won't renew with
them.
I keep telling her that I'm sure it will all work out fine and for the best in the end, but she's understandably very worried!
My tattoo is one of these: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2188157/The-astonishing-2-500-year-old-tattoos-Siberian-princess--little-changed-art.htmlI just loved the idea of having something so ancient, it goes with my other one too...that's ancient greek (athena's owl)

KIDCAT you have such a lot on your shoulders pet, let your Mum just get on with it, if she's always been this way she will have learned the hard way that you don't always get away with the bullying, yes, she'll grump and glump but she'll survive and you'll have one less problem to deal with until the next time, yes? I am hoping and praying for your poor uncle, and all of you too, it's such a distressing time and out of your hands, which makes it all so much harder to bear. Hugs to you and the family, hugs to your uncle and hugs to your Mum too, keep us up to date with developments lovie, we're here if you need us,Be strong, Lyn xxx.0

Me, I just drink tea and try not to think about the chocolate I'm not eating, dammit.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

LOL I'm quite 'far out there' myself... I have a number of interests that are not 'main stream' so to speak, I just look relatively normal
There's a new book out that looks fascinating:

I LOVE the masectomy covering. Really really pretty.
I'd just like to point out that "Other daily papers are available" it's unfortunate that the daily wail has usually got the best coverage and pictures!!!

I found out that to put the girls in childcare before and after school while I am at work will cost me £38 per day term time... I would only earn £43. I cannot go for that job or any other job that offers minimum wage or just above. I'm upset and I'm angry. Sometimes it doesn't matter how hard you try, how determined you are in life to make it on your own you just can't and it's frustrating and upsetting. Like I say I'm emotional but that doesn't excuse rudeness. I just wish no one had seen it but I did press submit and I do have to take responsibility for that.
When I started back at work after having my eldest, I ended up working 2 days for about £10 per week after paying childminder and petrol. Eventually I got more experience and got a job a bit closer, and the money started to increase. Now DD is 16 and DS 13, haven't had childcare for some time and have experience to command higher salaries. it is a bit like speculating to accumumlate and you gain the experience. Good luck, anyway.9 and a half pounds!! Makes your eyes water to think of it LOL
Well done mum
My DS was 9lb 14oz - piece of cake, the big ones get themselves out! The nursing staff were coming in specially to look at the massive baby, when he was a month old I had to have emergency surgery (D&C - long story) and he had to come back in with me so they put me on a maternity ward as it was the only secure ward. Then he was like a celebrity!! A one month old baby is vastly different to a newborn, and a HUGE one month old baby even more so - he barely fitted the cot.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Can I ask a quick question for the knitters amongst us?
When a pattern on ravelry suggests "Worsted / 10 ply" what wool is suited?
Thank you0
