Morning all,
Just dropping by to say so pleased to hear you are safe Softstuff and hugs to Aria's Tail.
Not much to report here - a nice quiet weekend, which was just what was needed! Biggest decision to be made at the moment: do I use some Amaz*n vouchers which are burning a hole in my pocket to buy a pasta maker attachment for my Kenwood - hmm.
Have a good week everyone.0 -
morning everyone, arial's tale moan away - aproblem shared and all that. Some days just being able to write and post makes things seam a lot less worse. I had a relaxing afternoon in the end yesterday. Just cooked dinner and then chilled on here.
DD is doing her last week on work experience at the local school.
my brother rang yesterday morning asking for some help, now he only calls when he needs something. He will need it done now, not later either. Well we were just going to get shopping, we hadnt had breakfast as there was nothing in and i said we can do it later. Cue the dont bother.... what is it with people like that. It so annoyed me. Sorry but if he needed help, then its not always possible for us to just drop everything at his beck and call.
Well i must get myself dressed, going to see other DD later. Have a good day everyone.BSC member 137

Well, had we moved to the house that we liked but was already under contract, we would have had no electricity or likely phone the past 2 days (and counting). We've been very lucky where we've been to maintain those thus far. Bearing in mind, there's no piped gas to houses here either, so unless you have gas bottles, no cooking.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Morning all! Softstuff i have just been catching up on the thread and reading of your adventures with flooding. Im glad you are ok.
My living room window is 16.5 feet wide and has an 82 inch drop:eek: So just a bit of a nightmare to curtain. I get around it by going to ikea and buying 3 packs of LILL curtains at £5 a pair and then cut them short to fit the drop. That does my nets. Actual curtains i buy 2 pairs of 90inch drop curtains, one pair of standard 66inch width and one pair of 90inch width. The excess at the bottom gets tucked behind the radiator which is a silly 12inch deep by 10ft wide! The last curtains i bought not long before christmas came from pounstretcher and cost £13 each pair and re lined but very thin. They keep the warmth in and look good though.
My family were being horrible this weekend and arguing lots. Very stressed and have a horrible headache now. On the plus side i saw one of my brothers that i havnt seen for a while and gave him a dolls pram for his youngest, offered him a toddler bed and mattress and a toddler trike. He has taken the dolls pram and will collect the trike and bed soon.0 -
Aria's Tail please feel free to have a good moan *hugs* I don't seem to have stopped complaining for a bit now, it's time for someone else to have a turn
Softstuff I have been doing a fair bit of complaining too -so I can't do any more for now, don't want to risk being thrown off the site:rotfl: I am really glad you are safe!:)
Aria's Tail (((hugs for you))
Today is day one of our *5:2 Plan* and I'm starving already:rotfl: It's just because I know it is a fast day, so basically food is my main and possibly only thought at the moment. I was up at 6 and had my planned allowance so that's it now until tonight:eek:This is going to be good for the shopping budget:D Even a cup of herbal tea sounds exciting now:) DH has taken his apple and pear and is thrilled:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:at the prospect of a day without his normal sandwiches and HM Cake :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Much milder here today although I believe more rain is promised later. Not too much on my agenda either and I have to admit to still being in my PJs 4 hours after getting up, so I'd better pop off and do something about it:)Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

And thanks again to everyone wishing me well. I don't have many friends in real life here, just hubbys family really (not generally anyone apart from hubby to talk to about things) and it really means a lot to me to have you guys.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone.
I'm just feeling really trapped with my job at the moment. Really want to quit and go back to a job where I actually live in my own house, but for that I would have to buy a second car which is just not financially gonna happen. We are just scraping by as it is. OH has to use my car for work at the moment as they are waiting for company vehicles to come in which keep getting pushed back. He has been told that without a car he won't have a job but I don't need one for work at the moment but can't get a new job without one! I just have to wait till he gets a company van but with no idea when this is gonna happen i'm just feeling depressed about it all.
Sorry, just realised how many buts are in that paragraph! :rotfl:
Never mind, got to get loads done todays as should be back to work in the morning for 6 days so need to clean out fish tanks, hamster and dog run.
Gonna blow £4 and go for a swim this afternoon to chill out a bit .:o
Elizabunny don't know how you can do that diet. If I try to do anything like that I can't stop thinking about food! Best of luck.0 -
Aria does it have to be a car? Would a scooter do for either of you? seeing as road tax, insurance are less for them.£71.93/ £180.000

Has to be a car i'm afraid.
We both have motorbikes sat in the back as a hobby!0 -
Good Morning
Bye, it's bitter today. No ice for us so this fledgling (with 13 years no claims bonus :rotfl: ) driver was happy this morning.
I've spent the last 2 hours filling in my job application form for the nursery nurse position in a baby room. You know what? I really want this job  I've got everything set on it on and could do it so, so well. I just hope my scrawly writing gets read because I've put my all into it.
We were talking about room/comfy body temps yesterday. Normally the house is set on 18, with it being put on 19 if it's chilly. I'm that cold right now I've put it up to 20  I'd have to say though that 18 in the old house felt like baltic conditions, seriously. No wonder I was forever in gas debt!
My review for the deposit is today. :j Old Landlord still has not got the house on the rental market. I wonder if he actually is taking things seriously and getting the work done. If I didn't feel sick to the stomach I'd drive by but, yak. Nasty taste.
Housework beckons :A0
