Pooky - great news about your DD and her job! :j:j

Katie - I am no expert here at all and this is just from what I've read below - but from the circumstances listed, it doesn't sound at first glance that your DS is officially classed a dependent. I think he would have to meet both sets of questions, ie the first bit being 18+ and living at home and also the second list about benefits and pension credits etc- unless there is a particular reason as to why he isn't eligible for benefits ?

Maybe someone with more experience could advise?

katieowl Try posting on the benefits forum - there are some members who are experienced who can maybe offer advice? I don't know anything about it but from what you've posted I'm sure you should be able to claim something.

7 WW You will definitely need a gas fitter who's CORGI registered (by law - for safety) Can I suggest you get one out to have a look and see where the pipes are & estimate the cost first then you will know what your options are

Its now called Gas Safe, they took over Corgi a few year ago. So if someone says they corgi registered and not gas safe then they operating illegally. Any work you have performed by them is not insured and not in effect gas safe.

Any kind of gas works have to be performed by a registered Gas Safe Engineer. This site has all registered engineers on, just type in your area / postcode and you should be able to find someone.

sq sounds like a lovely rewarding opportunity for you :)

Woohoo Lyn :D Yes all sorted :) Docky needs a bow tie for wedding day ;) So very exciting for you all. Any idea of your outfit yet?

It's good to be back! I've made a cheeky apple flapjack crumble for this very cold night http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1774/apple-flapjack-crumble

You know this tin in the picture 1774_MEDIUM.jpg

can you buy them? They remind me of war time images. They'd be fabulous for my crumbles and pasta bakes.

Youngest has been licking her mouth and 'Jack Frost has gotten it'. It's red an sore. I was thinking applying vasaline when she goes outside. Would that work or make it worse. She developed a habit of licking her lips and is having difficulty stopping.

Lo FUDDLE - I'm going to wear my gardening jeans, wellies, a comfy T shirt and my beanie hat!!!!!!! Not a clue really pet, I do comfortable not smart so it's going to be a real challenge!!!

Yes you can still buy the enamel pie tins, also round ones and pudding basins and plates and mugs, I have a big collection from our camping days. Any good old fashioned hardware shop will have them or they are on ebay and they are very reasonably priced too, Cheers Lyn xxx. Camping/outdoorsie shops sell them too but they might be a bit more expensive in those, xxx.

fuddle: my youngest did the same a few weeks ago and didn't like wearing lip salve so I used to apply some whilst he was asleep. He eventually let me apply some salve and also stopped the licking.

I bought a pack of 3 lip salves for £1 (either Aldi or Lidl, sorry can't remember which), I think I've bought a cheap one in Savers before as well. The vaseline should work but some kids don't like the taste. Was thinking she might like her own lip salve to apply it herself and that in itself might distract from the licking.

Just don't buy one of the fruit or choc flavoured ones!

and the crumble looks lush -want to make one but have no apples, will get some soon!

No snow here as yet(I think that a light dusting did fall overnight)but it has been b***** freezing today and nothing I do seems to been keeping me warm(even the extra clothes)

Even 2Tonsils was saying even with all the extra things she was doing it was still cold...May have a warming bowl of soup I think...and hopefully some thing nice for my evening meal...
