kidcat Thank you for your advice re: Dentist, I am certainly going to have to ask for some different treatment, I cannot go through that again and am only just getting back to normal today. Thinking of you too (((hugs)))

savingqueen & softstuff Thank you also for your kind words re: my trip to the Dentist.

(((hugs))) for all those that need them.

Can't believe it is Thursday already, this week has gone in a bit of blur, but today I feel almost normal:) Walking much easier and managing to get a few things done now. Sore mouth now improving:) Sorry for the last few moaning posts,( think I was feeling a bit run down).

DH and I are considering the new *5:2 fa*t d*et*, so that should be a laugh. He doesn't need to lose much and I want to lose a bit more -think it might help with my back probs. DH has much more will power than me though, but after the last few weeks I'm prepared to give anything a try. Plus it just might cut down on the grocery bill:j
We've already stopped buying cereal as such -just oats now and we always have a healthy smoothie for breakfast -so that's a start, but DH does love his HM cakes so that might be a challenge. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

We have about 6" of snow slowly thawing outside, so that plus the rain this weekend, could mean more floods in our area, though luckily we are at the top of a hill -not lucky for others though -I really feel for people flooded out of their homes and we seem to have had so much of it recently.

Congratulations Mrs VP on your new job and good luck to your DH.

    Stay safe everyone

I couldn't do that! I was the woman that freaked out when the angel fish ate the baby guppies remember ;)!
Circle of life Katieowl, circle of life :rotfl:
I understand choosing the fish really. We have geckos here, but they're not pets, they're wild. They're fun to watch in the evenings on the windows catching bugs! And they look just adorable. But I can't imagine, after watching them leap and run, keeping them in a tank.

Mr VP's interview has now been moved to next week.

:j I got the job :j, just need to get the official letter than I can start my 1 month notice.

Congrats Mrs VP :j That's lovely news.

Woo Hoo for Mrs VP :T:T:T

Elizabunny theres a thread on here for the 5:2 diet. I've been on it for about 3 weeks now & lost about 5lb AND its gone from my 'muffin top' My DH also likes his HM food & cakes - I just dont have a second helping on my non fast days but eat normally but sensible (fasted yesterday & muffins for brekky - yum) I find it fits around my lifestyle with no faffing - found at first it was a bit difficult but no probs now - good luck!

    Morning all,

I feel like I should be whispering as it is so quiet in here today!

Mar - I hope you are surviving up the hill. We've just got it wet and grotty here.

Can I pick people's brains on two things: First is a philosophical question - those of you who write blogs: why do you do it? I'm thinking of starting as a way of recording my recipes and how I'm getting on with my veg bag. But I'm not sure that I'd make it public as I'd take it really badly if people wrote nasty comments!

Second: Our electric hob is dying. Not that it owes us anything as I think it is at least 30 years old. In an ideal world I like to replace it with a gas hob and replace the extractor fan at the same time. But we don't want anything else doing in the kitchen. Is it possible to do that (we already have gas in the house and a gas boiler in the kitchen) without too much disruption (don't really want the floor boards or cupboards ripping up). We are not brilliant at DIY (ok at decorating) so would have to get someone in to do it - do we need a gas fitter or a kitchen fitter - help!!

Cheers folks and have a good Fridau

7 WW You will definitely need a gas fitter who's CORGI registered (by law - for safety) Can I suggest you get one out to have a look and see where the pipes are & estimate the cost first then you will know what your options are

I do it to record recipes, occasionally to rant, sometimes to put pictures up of things I've done. I started it as an exercise in writing, though sometimes I feel as though I'm having a conversation with myself in an empty room rather than anyone actually reading :rotfl:. This is despite having a few followers and some nice comments. Mine is public, I've never had a nasty comment, but would just delete it if I did.

I read somewhere that most people who write a blog don't go past a year. I can see why, it's a lot of work and you seldom know if anyone is really finding it useful.
