Happy birthday 7WW, enjoy your cake
nutty - we use a free version of adaware, which is quite good. alongside it we have spyware doctor and spyware blaster, both are free and help protect again trojans and things.
great news kidkat :T
Just got back from occupational therapy with ds2, they assisting him with his hypermobility as he is far to flexible. So we were for an hour while they showed him different exercises to strengthen his arms, using cutlery and tying shoe laces. DS2 actually took part which was really good without much complaining, i'm really pleased with him as he tried so hard. Just dropped him at school so going to sort out more receipts before i go to a meeting at ds1's school.0 -
Pops, have emailed you, as suspected tonight's guest at the music club has been postponed. I'm not going, the organisers will be there in case people turn up, but the evening is likely to finish early and I don't fancy hanging around until my taxi arrives. Not to mention negotiating the ice rink of a car park. I've told others who won't know unless I tell them.
Software... I use AVG anti-virus (free download) and CCleaner for getting rid of temp. files clogging up the memory. mcculloch29, Thank You for the warning...I'll have a quiet night in...its not worth having an accident for any of us...

Nutty P, Yes even milk(sorry farmers)is better for me if I can buy 4 pints for £1(which we have the choice of in Herons or Aldi)
Ok they are pretty basic cakes but I purchased two McVities cakes(Lemon and Fruit)in the Freezer shop 60p each but the two saved me 20p(better in my pocket)something to have with a cup of tea or with custard:p
Bought some Couscous(I have no idea what is like)but it seems you can have it with chicken etc...looks a bit like rice...tomatoes, sliced cheese, garlic, beetroot and some more of those Lucozade energy drinks.
What isn't used can be added to my food store. It builds up my store of food but also gives me a variety of items to play with.
The electrics inspection has been put back to Feb 4th which suits me...though that date is the 29th anniversary of losing my Father...but I'm ok with that.
No more snow here but the way it has frozen is making it difficult for people to get around...the roads are better than the paths etc..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Kidcat, Auntie Ginny here - remember to take a breath and have a cuppa some where along your busy day. Goodness woman you must be knackered
Kezlou, is hypermobility what they used to call double jointed or something else?
Just been to pick DGS up and he is not happy with his new big boy car seat - he climbs out and wants to sit next to me in the back
It usually only happens near home but his Mummy is scared and obviously cannot think of going on longer journeys at the mo. Can any of the other auty mums give me a clue what to do. Personally I think he should go back in his old seat for now as his new one isnt as snug and maybe he feels unsafe?Clearing the junk to travel light

Here's a question I have stock cubes(allowing that they can be salty)but ok if used correctly. Are they good in stews/casseroles/soups as it always looks like all you are making is watery flavoured liquid that is very thin.
Whereas sauces or gravy is a bit thicker...even a creamy soup seems a better option...any opinions? I'm a novice on such matters..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Ginny - has he outgrown the old seat by weight? If so then he obviously needs a bigger one but maybe with the child belt rather than using an adult belt looped through ( I assume its this type)
We used to use distraction, biscuits and a tray fitted to the seat - puts the belt fastening out of sight, there are specialist car seats out there but the difficulty is that the basis of a car seat is that in an accident it needs to be easy to get the child out.
I dont envy you - we had this over years with both boys - my dad used to threaten to handcuff them!!
If you end up having to buy a new seat then its worth contacting cerebra to get advice and possibly a grant towards the cost

Happy Birthday 7WW :beer:_party_ Hope you're having a good day. Another January birthday toughie!!!
sorry only have a few mins to skim read til later but noticed your post ginny. I will ask my friend for advice but wondered if it would help to make the new car seat really attractive to DGS - ie decorate it with fav character stickers, tie ribbons on it, buy a cheapy soft toy or whatever which likes to "ride with DGS in the new big boy seat".
kidcat - sit down first chance you get and have some"you" time, please.... you will wear yourself out completely. (you are being told off Mrs!)
not having the best of days, back giving me gip after snow shovelling and been tense driving (school opened) which has added to it and various unassociated things are upsetting/worrying me. I feel on the verge of tears all the time and really washed out. I've started to skip the odd cycle and wondered if its the perimenopause (I'm only 45 but not unknown)? I will only go to the GP if absolutely necessary (he is not good to talk to and unhelpful unless he can refer you on) so not doing that yet. Also feel anxious all the time, wondering if its all the courses I have lined up, first starts tomorrow and I'm not sure I have enough emotional energy to go. I just want to hide under the duvet away from the world right now. Probably jsut a bad spell and I'll be fine - helps to offload here as I wouldn't say as much in the real world. I am giving myself a pep talk as I type!
sorry to go on about me so much, will be back later to check up on you all. hugs to everyone - why not, we all deserve it.0 -
ps ginny - I am sure I have seen some sort of gadget that you attach to seatbelts for kids to stop them opening the buckle. sorry no idea what they are called or where to buy - could google or post on family board?
