Softstuff thank you, I knew I had missed something earlier, the ideas were great, I will print them all up with her tomorrow and see what they say, she was really pleased when I told her, apparently the others in class have taken in photos and maps etc but no-one has taken recipes.0

7ww - you deserve:beer: and a big slap on the back!
2tonsils the snow looks lush, so jealous of you.
I'm glad my post didn't offend anyone regarding technology i was really concerned about it.
This so called friend, my partner said i should never speak to her again, he was so angry. I've sent fuddle a link between my house, her house and the school, just in case i'm being unreasonable. I know i can be with all the medication and stuff.
Never had gnochhi before is it nice? Is it easy to make?0 -
kezlou - I think you summed it up really well.
And the distance for this person shouldnt matter, I remember one of my daughters friends calling her at three in the morning from a bus station 50 miles away, my daughter woke me and I got in the car and drove out to get her, its what friends do. No questions:)0 -
Fuddle - I've seen some charts that show some very cold bits from Monday onwards....of course it's all subject to predictions but I've heard it from several different sources now. I brought extra cat food just incase.
Kidkat - hope the cv turning up like that was a good omen. Fingers crossed for your hubby.
Hugs to all having man issues. Makes me very pleased I've bagged a good'un now. I've been there and found the courage to get out and start again.
Managed to get washing out on the line today, it wasn't completely dry but smells lovely. The sunshine was very welcome and I managed an hour of sewing in the conservatory, felt so much better for seeing bright light rather than grey dullness."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. If you wanted some photos or such too I could send them (things we've photographed locally include rainbow lorikeets, bush turkeys, a python, various lizards, flowers and stuff).
For a little "colour" this is fun:

Some are a bit obscure, but most are in regular use (I read down the list and have heard at least half in the past week!). You might have to censor it a little!
Oooh, and this for fun, they're an Australian comedy duo:

Morning all! Isnt it awful how some friends treat us when we need them to be there for us? I had a friend from school days and two years ago i had to let her go as whenever i text her she would reply to my daughter instead - apparently she had forgotten how to hit the 'reply' function on a text message! I know she was depressed and still is but she refuses to do anything to help herself apart from research what anti depressant she wants to use next! I gave her lots of sympathy and support but she was never there for me when i needed her. Oh well.
Yesterday was good and hopefully today will be great as i have an all day quilting class to attend! We are going to be making a 'trip around the world' style quilt out of six fat quarters. Mine are three plain FQ and three patterned with buttons or sewing reels. I cant wait!0 -
Morning all have been in hibernation for the past week as I have had a few assignments due in.... Managed to plough through a couple and felt victorious as the psychology was a little tinker to consolidate.
Just to report that I have a University interview on friday... I am soooooo nervous but feel that whatever their decision, it will be for the best. Ialso have a plan B just incase things don't go in my favour. It's been a long time coming, 25 years of the care sector and this past year I decided to enroll in an Access to Nursing course at college. It has been a whirlwind of homework and conditioning my mind from the once naughty imp at school to one that needs to get the grades to proceed. fingers crosed guys, will updat after friday. hugs to those that need them xxThriftkitten

Morning all,
Good luck Thriftkitten: in my experience Universities these days are pretty favourable to mature students who have been out in the real world and, for whatever reason are then returning to studying.
Have a good day all.0
