Well said MONNAGRAN the community on this thread is the firm foundation that helps us not be quivering jellies in times of crisis because each of us knows how hard life can be at times and most of the common sense people on here can come up with coping strategies, sometimes solutions but always and ever love, support and kindness whenever it's needed. Thank goodness it is here, Cheers Lyn xxx Extra hugs to all who need them xxx.0

I agree that it's really useful to have a little rant which is 'heard' but largely by those that don't know you in real life. It makes a huge difference to how you feel, just to have even a couple of people come back and say 'oh that's pants' or 'I'd be cross too". Then of course you get lots of useful suggestions from the communal 'OS brain' which is very wise!

Thanks ervyone
Just have to say today was going well, i managed to stop crying :j
My children both had good days at school DS1 really enjoyed his volunteering and he can't wait to go back tomorrow.
Had my youngest telling me off for leaving the house. He was so cute i couldn't help smiling.
Rant alert:
Well i my OH didn 't come back as early as planned, in fact he's still out fitting an extractor fan. Poor thing will be exhausted when he comes back.
Checked the mince and its gone off, i mean it was completely rancid so were having frozen chips and scampi. Easy to cook when your shattered.
I am absolutely exhausted, i walked round the school to get ds2 took me 15 minutes to walk 100 yards and another 15 mins to get back. So a two minute walk turned in a 30minute one. Gutted as i fell asleep watching star wars so missed obi getting darf maul.:(
My neighbour who saw me said next time just ask me and i'll pick him up for you. Our children are in the same year at school and they live over the road from so i know who they are. Were not close friends but we talk to each other.
Anyway'd i asked my supposed friend to collect ds2, she's the one i mentioned who earlier who came for a coffee and said oh i don't do school runs so do it yourself. I was fuming, yesterday i waddled to her house after she quit her new job and really helped sorting stuff out with her so her claim jsa wasn't mucked up on and sort some things out for a visa.
It literally takes two minutes, well for someone who can walk, to get round the corner to the school. I used to set off at 2:58pm and at the school bang on 3pm. But would she do something for me no, instead i walked in absolute agony in the cold rain. Best thing is her children are 16 and 12 and both of them were at school. shows what kind of friend she is.
sorry all i'm just angry, today was the first time i ever asked her for a favour. I have known her 9 nine years and have been there for her through and thing. From her first husbands illness, financially, you name it.
so yep another rant from me0 -
Kezlou is the mince still in date? If so take it back, if the shop is out of the way phone them and let them know. This has happened to my Mum a few times and the shop (co-*p) they not only gave her her money back but also gave her some vouchers.
Thanks for earlier everyone. Picked OH up from work and he's done nothing but apologise. Got 2 knock-backs fo jobs. 2 down and over 100 to go (I kid you not thats how many I've applied for).
Logged onto Tarot but its quiet. I created a fb page to help 'advertise' it so we'll see if that makes a difference.
Omelette and chips tonight for tea. I've been using the micro-chips as it means if OH says he wants a quick snack I have them (I refuse to get a deep fat fryer you see). Used up some left over bacon and a tomato in the omelette. Volunteering tomorrow, so I will do the supermarkets once I finish. There's some shops there I can do the quidco check in for so thats extra pennies.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
Havent been able to post all day, but wanted to send hugs to you all.
Unix - hope your hubby sticks to his apologies
Kezlou - I hate it when that happens, I agree to check the date and return it if possible,
Its been a long day today, I had a difficult meeting first thing for a group I have offered help too, followed by a meeting at DS14 school the words useless comes to mind.
DS8 has just announced he is going swimming with school on Thursday, and it all feels like deja vu, it was the whole debacle of the swimming lessons last year that began the major issues so I am more than a little worried, added to which he doesnt have a costume - is it wrong to expect a little notice to source these things?
The shredding is now complete (well apart from the last twenty cheque books!) and the box is clear, its such a relief. I have also finally got OH job application and CV all done, submitted etc which admittedly took until 3am but at least its done, OH was getting up for work when I was going to sleep.0 -
KEZLOU you know what? You deserve so much better than that!!! The lovely lady across the road will help you, so let her and she will become a friend and not just someone to say hello to. Chin up little one, you need to let out the hurt somehow, so tell us, we will always listen and help if we can, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

DH came in and tile me we're in for a real nasty cold spell. Is he correct?
Kez, a text is flying on over to you. I'd have done that for you without a doubt. I find your friend to be a lazy inconsiderate person. 2 minutes? I'm cross on your behalf.
Looking forward to getting back into wartime cooking myself. You're souring me on to try some new things. Made the girls ready made gnocchi today and they adored it. Hopefully I can make it from scratch as its quite expensive to buy ready made.
You know what? If I had a car I would be using it to do the school runs without a doubt. I'm no super frugal stubborn woman. I'm just a wife who can't afford a car and has no option to walk. The way I get trough tough times I by challenging myself. By changing every niggle 'its not fair' thing into a determined 'I won't let it beat me' thing the obstacle goes from a set back to having a purpose and there fore the stubborn me (and happy) over rides the lack lustre (and miserable) me = fuddle on a good day
The days it's raining, snowing or blowing a hooligan I will be so full of whinge believe me.0 -
Evening all,
Oh Kez - you deserve a big hug and someone to make you a large mug of hot chocolate. I'm sorry your "friend" is showing her true colours. Like others have said, take your neighbour up on her offer: it will help you out and will probably make her feel good to feel helpful and wanted.
Unixgirl, thanks for updating us about the poor dog. Sorry you haven't had any good news on the job front: but stick with it - with your determination you *will* get something soon.
Kidcat I think you are more than entitled to a wee glass of wine at some point this evening.
Fuddle: I've heard rumours of nasty cold weather starting from about the 22nd Jan.
Am I allowed to feel a little bit smug? I was on my mobile just now when the house phone rang. OH answered and I gathered it was one of his pals who only comes to Scotland about once a year. Next thing I heard was "Yes, come round and have supper tomorrow evening" However, I took a look in the freezer and the left-over Christmas goodies box and I've manged to source everyhing I need for a roast dinner with chocolate pannetone pud and all OH has to get from the shops is some tonic water and a packet of value stuffing: we've got everything else in stock:T
Have a good/restful evening everyone.0 -
7ww - you go ahead and feel smug, I would definitely
Kezlou - a friend who would not help do something so simple is not a true friend in my book, it sounds as though your neighbour is much more appropriate0 -
unixgirluk wrote: »Don't apologise, I did vent and at least talking it about here I feel I can vent if that makes sense. I do love him, and he was the first to love me for me .......quirks and all. We've been through a lot. He nearly died (an op) about 6 months after we met, stuff SD put us through. I'd had a habit in the past of changing who I was to suit who I was with, with him I didn't do that and I'm not sure why.
The bit in bold, I get that especially. But don't forget he wouldn't be the only person to love you for you and he wouldn't be the only one you'd stay you for, if it came to it.
I can smell bush fire here but there's nothing on the online fire map. Won't be that close to us in any case, I just have a nose for it.
*hugs* Kezlou. I'll provide some virtual baileys to go in that hot chocolate from 7ww. Your friend needs a kick up the bum.
Kidcat, I cheated with the cheque books and deposit books and took them into the bank for them to do! They get their stuff shredded en masse. I had about 12.... no way was I going to try those.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070
