and I had a nightmare making rice pudding in it.
Today is a bleugh day. I made a mistake at "work", aka the charity shop, and gave someone a giftaid form to take away to fill in. Apparently that is really bad and shouldn't be done at all.
Really? Why not? Surely anything which brings in more money is to be commendedPlease be kinder to yourself, take care of yourself, and ask them why you shouldn't give them out. I can't think of one good reason.
In his defence it was at about 2am and the sign wasn't lit. So he didn't realise until the camera flashed at him.

Here is a petition asking for fireworks to be banned from public sale, if anyone would like to sign it.
SDG3100 I know the mistake about the form is probably going round and round in your mind, but try not to let it. Everyone makes mistakes and yours was so minor it probably hasn't even caused as much ripple effect as the fabled butterfly flapping its wings over the Atlantic (or whatever that chaos theory example is!). Try to let it go xxx.
Still haven't plucked up the courage to phone the dentist! Maybe tomorrow ...... :eek:Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Been pricing up tyres, so far it's well over £200 for 4 fitted - daylight robbery! - and they're nothing fancy. :eek:0 -
Cheapskate have you looked at Costco for tyres? They used to be really good value and much cheaper than anywhere else.0

Thanks Fuddle will have a look at that one. TBH we can't afford much so it will probably be just what is available at the right price. I wish we could manage without getting one but not possible I don't think.0

Have decided to buy a halogen oven - has anyone regretted buying one?
Never regretted it for one moment! I bought one to replace an ancient gas cooker as I live alone and it is perfect for me. I use it as a powerful fan assisted grill mostly, and do most "baking" in the microwave, finishing off in the halogen for crispness where needed.
I have a portable hob as well for the odd thing like boiled or poached eggs, so I paid out under £100 instead of £300+ to replace the gas cooker and it costs a lot less than cooking with a big cooker.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

We've just had that discussion here possession. If we move to a different area the chances are i'll need a cheap runaround for the school runs, but cheap runarounds cost money. I'm happy without a car, I'd be upset if I had to get one.
Embarrassing DH's? Mine has taken photo's of his fish tank fish and posted them on facebook.
Oh Lyn speaking of DH's. He's been hunting in my drawer where your photo of Docky was, he's smitten0 -
VJs - I love my halogen and don't regret it at all, it gets used most days....just takes a while to work out how to make it work for you ( timings, portions, bakeware that fits etc)
I buy a 10 x 25kilo bags of coal per year, for aprrox £100 delivered. That does us all winter (had three full bags left from last year) fire gets lit around 3pm at the moment and we don't add anything after 9pm, we burn logs/free wood too. The coals were still glowing this afternoon from last nights fire, a quick rake and some kindling and it wooshed back into life. Sitting here now listening to the hiss and crackle, no tv, DH is reading and DD2 is laying infront of the fire playing with the kittens.....it really does make it cosy.
Been creative this afternoon....it's not finished but pic about to go on my blog for those who are interested."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
