Hope he's faring better than a lot of others on the thread, as Lillibet says, perhaps the best place for your Birds Christmas Tree would be somewhere that he can't get to on his own, or he'll learn to cheep and pretend he's a birdie!!! Please keep us up to date with any developments re houses, I would be just so delighted for you if it did come off, you deserve some good things to happen little one, Cheers Lyn xxx.

It's out out the front Lyn. Alfie, loose, amongst birds  I never allow him in the front garden, he's a wanderer and far too interested in everything and anything.

I did laugh when lilli said about bird food and dawgs :rotfl:
  • Finger crossed for something decent Fuddle.
Well my great plans of garden tidying didn't materialise. I walked (had to, OH had pinched my car this morning) to the local highstreet and deposited 3 carrier bags stuffed full into the local hospice charity shop (I feel it is the most deserving of the bunch). Feel a bit better for having some stuffout of the way (I really don't need 12 scarves and 5 pairs of gloves amongst other stuff.) And just CBA to sell on Eb*y at the moment. Bought milk and chicken from local butcher then came home and curled up on the couch with the lappy. I did manage to do something constructive though, sorted a Quidco account and put that and my mobile banking app on to my phone, complete with free security. Then prepped tea. Not a complete waste of the afternoon. :o

Re one ball of sock yarn, mine is noro kureyan and is thin. I found a scarf pattern
    http://susaninstitches.blogspot.co.uk/2010/06/free-pattern-friday-seamist-scarf-or.html

It is very easy and is producing a lovely floaty scarf
    these colours

I got the yarn cheap from regia and have a few more balls so looks as though all females will be getting scarves at some stage

I cannot believe how quickly my alfalfa is ready to eat, three days that was all. I just emptied the jar and rinsed and have now packed into a box in the fridge so that is several lots of meal vitamins for 2 tbs of seeds. For tea tonight, alfalfa, pomegranite seeds and grated carrot plus fried up meatless hot pot and a few salad beans

    Afternoon all :)

I have everything crossed for you fuddle Good luck xxx

Today is a bleugh day. I made a mistake at "work", aka the charity shop, and gave someone a giftaid form to take away to fill in. Apparently that is really bad and shouldn't be done at all. It was an honest mistake as no one had told me it couldn't be done, but at the moment it is feeding into my SAD and intense fear of making mistakes and upsetting anyone. I am really screwed up in rather a lot of ways emotionally and today it is all at the forefront.
Then I opened a letter addressed to DH and found a "Notice of Intended Prosecution" as he got caught doing 38mph in a 30mph zone. In his defence it was at about 2am and the sign wasn't lit. So he didn't realise until the camera flashed at him. The worse point in our marriage was caused by him speeding two too many times and his job being at risk. It was a hellish six months waiting to see if he would lose his licence and his job and it nearly destroyed us. This brings back all those memories.
On the plus side I have a rather gorgeous batch of chicken stock to do something with and a big pot of bacon broth simmering away. The house smells fantastic, much better than those artifical air fresheners.

DS1 wants the laptop, so hugs to those that want them.

    Take care xxxxx

£17.50 down after my dental check up. :( Everything is champion and my teefs are sparkling but one of my fillings (I had very bad dental hygiene growing up. I didn't go to the dentist which resulted in molars just crumbling away. It wasn't until I left college where I took it upon myself to go to the dentist to get help with it) needs replacing so that will be £30 down on top of Christmas.

My girls teefs are sparkling too (good girls but I do get at them about cleaning them because of the state of mine) but eldest needs a brace in the next few years. I wanted to ask about braces for grown ups as mine are crooked but I was scared to 1) they might not do them and I'll look stupid and 2) It might be horrendously expensive and have to say no and be all embarrassed.

SDG just remember that when everythings feels so bloomin' impossible that when you give yourself some time things will start ironing out to being more of an inconvenience than a really worrying situation.

Give yourself some time out to distinguish from what happened in the past to what happened now. It's not as severe this time. It's just at blip hun.

As for handing out a gift aid form, forgive yourself. I'm absolutely certain that everyone else has and has forgotten about it making their tea, and sitting down with their cuppa ;)

    Hugs to you misses x

fuddle, I'm so pleased for you all - do hope something comes of it! So keeping my fingers crossed. :j

Fireworks - don't mind the visual spectacle but I hate all the bangs, some delightful souls round here have the sort that sound like artillery shells! We've no pets, but mum has a cat, who hates fireworks with a passion. Got a few for the littlies, no loud ones, were BOGOF in SM, plus DS' staff discount, so we won't be burning too much cash.

Religion - what a big subject! I was brought up Catholic, mostly enjoyed and believed, mum's fairly religious, but in a deep, gentle way, not all for appearances. I remember some of the nosey old wifeys looking down their noses at her when she didn't bring us to church sometimes. If we'd been fighting or whatever, she wouldn't go as she felt all cross with us, thought it then hypocritical to sing hymns etc. She would "talk" to Them Upstairs in her head instead! She's always been a little in tune with nature, too, so I think both sit well with her. I think our local churches were fairly good, not all hellfire and brimstone, mostly about trying to be a better person, looking after the less well-off and poorly, all those good and sensible things, wrapped in a bit of religion, so we were lucky. I think there's something bigger than us all, I'm comfortable with both God and earthly/other spiritual explanations, it all encourages me when I'm having a bad day. Sorry, a bit heavy for Monday teatime! :rotfl:

I've now got Kindle for PC on here and the wartime diary that someone mentioned earlier (forgot name, but thank you!) - just the first few pages take your breath away! Will have to see if there are other free titles.

Been pricing up tyres, so far it's well over £200 for 4 fitted - daylight robbery! - and they're nothing fancy. However, the best car insurance quote is about £300 less than renewal with current firm! :j This includes 20 year old DS, so quite good.

Sorry for long post, not had any adult conversation today! Will buzz off for a few minutes..... :D

    A xo
