(((kidcat))) I am so sorry for your loss:grouphug:
Nothing special happening here today apart from baking mince pies as uncle is visiting today and expecting them. He has promised to try and fix the door and draw fronts that have fallen off my kitchen units so must be nice and make them. Will also make my baked bean lasagne - i'm really looking forward to it now several of you have said you also make it.
Last night i managed to pick up 400 stitches round the edges of my baby shawl and i have knitted the 4 set up rows. Now to continue with the 'Old Shell' pattern and hopefully not lose track.0 -
kidcat I am so sorry to hear your bad news. You did the right thing as hard as it may be. Have a huge hug and a portion of virtual trifle
(((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))))
We are going around a friend's house tonight for what was meant to be a quiet night eating yummy food and playing board games. There are now at least 18 people going and I've had to up my dessert contribution. The trifle is in the fridge and DH has gone off to donate blood with a list of ingredients to get at Mr T which is next door. I'm going to make a baked lemon cheesecake and a choc orange croissant bread and butter pudding. I'll see how I feel after making those and might make something else.
Take care everyone xxx0 -
New Year's Eve has arrived, and we have the customary Edinburgh Tattoo for our television viewing pleasure - may seem a bit odd to you, but every year I watch it, and every year I promise myself I'll get there one day.
So here's to the start of a New Year, may it be a memorably year for all, and for all the right reasons.
Mar, I'd share a toast with you if you brought your birthday bottle with you0 -
Just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear about your cat Kidcat.
Most of us on here know what it's like to lose a pet-member of the family, the pain lessens in time. Take care.Normal people worry me.0 -
I also just want to send hugs to Kidcat. It is never easy to part with a furry family member. Be gentle with yourself.

Kidcat, love & light pet xxx0 -
kidcat - I am sitting here crying with you. So sorry for your loss. All I can do is send you as many virtual hugs as you need. You did everything you possibly could for your cat throughout his whole life right to the very end and at least you know that he had a wonderful human and animal family to live with. Hope you can all comfort each other.

I can remember a day trip to Bamburgh Castle and another trip to the Farne Islands on a boat as a child. We went "up north" from London several times a year as children to visit our beloved Grandma who lived in Co.Durham. Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories.

Oh Kidcat - sending lots of virtual hugs for you and yours - so sorry to hear of such a rubbish end to the year.
Quite puts our disappointment into perspective. Car playing up (on way back from his parents yesterday DH was struggling to change gears really badly), I was supposed to be taking the kids up to my parents today to stop the night and give us the chance to go out, my lovely parents said they's come and pick them up and drop them back tomorrow but they just rang to say flooding on road so bad that although they could get through they didn't want to risk not being able to bring them back tomorrow so we'll just have to stay in and watch Jools instead. Not looking forward to the potentially large car bill in the new year though. Oh well there's always next year!
Here's hoping 2013 is a better one for all of us. X0
