    Morning everyone:wave:
I hope you all enjoyed yourselves yesterday or at least got through it with the minimum of stress.:D
Monnogram:- Sounds like you had an amazing day. Good for your Waitr*se!
We had a long busy day where about four pm, young and old, our clockwork seemed to run out! Queue Pj's and dressing gowns, and a tray of picky bits at half seven.
Today we have friends and family coming, everyone's grandchildren arrive in their Christmas dressing up costumes and we eat, drink, chat and giggle all day. Very relaxed and a good antidote to the 'must produce food on time' of yesterday. It's amazing how different families have different rules for the same board games!:p
Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”
  • Morning all!:):):)
It sounds like many of us had a wonderful day yesterday and i did too. My children all loved their gifts. youngest was estatic over her dolls house and of course i had to help her arrange all the new furniture i bought to go with it. The dolls house itself was originally my 15yr olds and has been sitting in my bedroom unused for a number of years. My son (12) has been building model aeroplanes and reading his books. !5 yr old daughter promptly disappeared upstairs to watch the vampire diaries dvd i bought for her and 18yr old daughter was squealing over the Downton Abbey dvds she got. Dinner was served when i decided it was cooked. It was lovely and more enjoyable because there was no rush. Even better i got to see one of my little sisters when she popped over for five minutes whilst visiting other little sister. Other sister couldnt come with her as she was waiting for her children to be returned by their dad but we did have a lovely chat.
Today is going to be relaxing apart from getting the hoover out and picking the turkey to pieces before making stock with the carcass.
Monnagran your day sounds amazing! Such hard work but so rewarding.
And now in other news - does anyone have an air horn i could borrow just for a few minutes please? Little brother (14) is snoring on my sofa..........:rotfl:
  • Morning Toughies, Happy Boxing Day!!! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and laughed lots, ate well, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. We had a really lovely time here, the lurcher got a new squeeky Hippo which he has played with constantly, we had lovely presents and gave lovely presents. Our lunch of Slow Cooked Brisket had cooked overnight and was fab and I prepared all the veg on christmas eve so didn't spend all day in the kitchen which was very nice. We had an evening of board games with much giggling and rounded the evening off with the first of our home made cider which was georgeous!!!!! DD2 will go home this afternoon and we will give the boy a nice long walk, then tomorrow DD1 and I will be off to the sales to see what is available. Stay safe and warm all of you and continue to enjoy the festive season, Cheers Lyn and Docky xxxxx.

just typed a massive post about yesterday and its been lost! Grrrrrrrrrrrr ain't the word. Maybe it was better it was lost. Saved you all hearing it!

so will just hello instead.:santa2: Lovely to hear about your special times.

well done monnagran - you are an exceptional person, imagine how the world would be if everyone had your kindness and energy. Hope you are enjoying a peaceful and restful day.You certainly deserve it.

Pops - glad you are feeling better after taking poorly on Christmas eve. Are you cooking your chicken dinner today?

7WW - cute pic. Cats are the experts at getting cozy!

nearly lost this post too. not sure what's going on here, probably just me as feel washed out and coldy and probably hitting random buttons!

have a nice day whatever you're up to. I'm planning a bath, leftovers plus fresh steamed veg for a late lunch and too many chocs later. not much energy for anything more exciting. have a few things planned for next days but will post again later as don't want to loose this one.

    take care
    sq:)
  • Hi all, hugs to anyone in need of one.
Had a lovely morning with the kids yesterday, they seemed to enjoy everything even though there wasn't as much as previous years.
We could hardly eat our dinner from the laughter!
Ds1 helped with the veg prep (he must have been in a good mood it's the first time ever)
    Dd1 helped wash up!
Ds2 and Dd2 just wound everyone up all day, but thats what 7 and 4 year olds do lol.
Bit of an anticlimax today, Ex-hubby decided at the last minute he wanted them so the house is eerily quiet, slobby day in pj's i think.
When the kids are here they drive me crazy with their noise but when they aren't i miss them like crazy.
    Happy boxing day everyone xxx
