Thanks pops for being so understanding and i'm glad i didn't offend you.
I know someone very close to me who wrote the the name of her condition down before she had the official notifcation. She had to pay back just less than a thousand back to the DLA. Took her 9 months to get her diagnosis through off the GP.0 -
Takes a lot to upset me Kezlou and I saw your post as looking after me. I went through my form again and double checked. I think I am safe.
I mentioned numb fingers and toes, bloods not always being as they should be as examples but did not give them a name just how I am affected.
On the other hand when the Dr's have mentioned Arthritis, kidney disease, hernia, gout etc...and given the condition a name I have used what they have told me.
Now to some extent I will be watching the mail for good or bad news in the early part of the new year but I will try not worry for the time being. It is out of my hands now...but I will be chasing my Dr. I was sorry the help he offered was not ready to go with the form.
Right to happier things...the weather outside is terrible but it seems milder indoors and I am warmer so that's welcome. I think I have all I need to have a decent festive meal and perhaps have a little tipple.
If lucky some of what I have I can use into the new year too if I make everything into smaller portions. I think I may be able to freeze the small cooked ham I purchased too. But the packaging doesn't say whether I can or not.
For now that and the other item I have a lattace with pork, turkey and bacon has a good date into the future so they can stay in the fridge for the time being.
Anyone interested Heron Freezer shops are doing small cans of Old Oak Corned beef for £1. I know some here like CB but have said how expensive it has become..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Fuddle,
Without an inventory the landlord can't claim anything. Nothing, nada, zilch.
Open and shut case....end of.
It may take a small claims action to get that message across to him, but it's pretty easy to do online.

Hello Toughies, I am sooooo happy - my youngest daughter has just told us that she and her partener got engaged last week but didn't want to tell anyone until they could tell both sets of parents face to face but now I'm allowed to tell the world - I can tell you it's the best ever christmas present and I've never seen her so happy, it's been an amazing day!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.0

More good news...yes please.
It is such a pity that many are going to have a miserable Christmas thanks to all this rain again. I hope all are safe and out of harm on here...
My garden is water logged but I hope/think that it won't mean a flood as such."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Did you remember to ask for your refund Lisa???? When I saw you in the morning you'd forgotten!!lol, smiley. i had a pair of toning trainers once. took me ages to get used to them and i still have wobbly legs and a saggy bum
I weny into school before i picked the girls up and spoke to the most senior member of staff available who also happens to be the healthy meals coordinator who writes up the packed lunch guidelines...i had lots of fun with her
two lots of carbs in the same meal, no quality protein, no vegi option for the juniors as the infants had eaten it all (cheese salad, no hot vegi meal), no dairy if the kids chose fruit as their dessert. although once the juniors came in for their dinner the portion size increased to...7 pieces of ravioli per child, no seconds.
the meals cost £1.95 per child.
apparently members of staff have recently raised the same concerns over quality and portion size, with the reception class often complaining they are hungry by mid afternoon.
ok, so i know i said i wouldn't go into detail, but i'm still fuming.
the cook said to me before she left this'll be like a day off to you, coming from secondary to primary. she wasn't wrong. in secondary not a minute of our day is unaccounted for. I was there for 45 minutes today before i lifted a finger to do any work, told to sit down, have a brew, go for a cig (no need to get changed out of uniform, no one will see). oh and when you've finished later, just have a quick sweep round, don'y bother mopping the floor we only do that once a week, twice if it needs it...
when the water jugs came back in from the tables, no need to wash them they've only had water in them (no matter the dozen sticky little mitts that have been handling them)
i'm disgusted, embarrassed and ashamed. no wonder the council are losing catering contracts if thats how the other kitchens are run!!
ETA, and i shall be requesting a refund on the (nearly) £4 it cost me to pay for the girls meals today. DD1 said hers was cold when she sat down. not surprised, it had been in the servery keeping warm since before i got in at 11am and no temp checks were done on it before dishing up.0 -
Just popping in to wish all of you a very happy Christmas and a healthy and contented New Year .... I really hope 2013 is not as tough as many of us fear it may be, but at least we all have each other for support, advice, or sometimes just an outlet for a much needed rant. I appreciate your warmth, kindness and, often, bravery, and send all of you my warmest thoughts and love. xx the cake xx0

Mrs LW: That's wonderful news. What a Christmas you are all going to have!
WCS: I hope your health issues improve, I just can't imagine how you and the other suffers of OA keep going, I take my hat off to you. Good luck with simplifying your life. It's been my New Years resolution for about the last 12 years and I'm no nearer achieving it now than I was then.
Desperately trying to get my house up together. Has anyone else found that as fast as you clear up one room another one disintegrates before your eyes? I made all the puddings for Open Arms today but not a single mince pie. I see on my to-do list that I meant not only to do the puddings but 6 dozen mince pies as well. Thank goodness Christmas Eve isn't too packed, I'll have to do them then.
My Christmas was all timetabled on paper. Pity that it doesn't translate too well into action.
Nearly there.

That's lovely news for the new year MrsLW.
Looks like it may be wet here for Christmas, which is unusual, but not unheard of.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Toughies...I have TOTALLY CRACKED Gluten free pastry for mince pies...if anyone wants it give me a shout!!!
I've spent all day in the kitchen, and after yesterdays shopping marathon, I think I can officially say I've over done it and should be lying in a darkened room!!! Good job tomorrow is not an early start.
The weather has been atrocious again today, and the garden is flooded in parts againDidn't manage to get the dogs out, but really I don't think they'd have thanked me - they've literally darted out under the garden table, done the necessary and scooted straight back in!
