Fuddle - raise a dispute with the deposit scheme people - he will have had to tell them the amount being sent back and the reasons for withholding the balance. Contest this. The crack should on the original inventory so point to that. You can do such things online but also write I think but you need to do this ASAP.
He will not be able to replace new for old if there was evidence of the crack in the original inventory, otherwise he might be able to claim this was damage and so replace the door - but he will have to provide receipts for the costs to prove this.
You have the choice to have this adjudicated and that is that or go to court when you lodge the dispute. If you really want the money back and have a case you will have to take small claims court action on your own. £80 to file then paperwork and so on and attendance at hearing. You will be liable for costs if not successful though.
I'd personally do the dispute resolution service option but it is a matter for you.

Nuttyp thats fab that the chap is going to get some help - he must be in agony bless him. While there are many on the street with addictions there are many nowadays who are not and are there through debt and loss so like you we cannot judge just do what we can.

Unix crossing everything for a quick decision for you.

Fuddle Auntie Kidcat is right £300 is far to much for the wardrobe repair he is just hoping you will fall for it like most people do - make a fuss and principles are our choice to have - its one thing that many people could do with having, maybe then this world would be a better place - you stand by yours girl!

Yes love I do, and sometimes much less than that, I buy a lot of reduced, have a great local market and am lucky enough to have a few bob in hand if I see a good offer.

This month will be much under due to being too ill at the moment to go shopping, loads of reduced in freezer and hopefully on holiday for the last week.

Right I've phoned about another job (temp though). No news about today's, the wait is torture. I'm now going through should I have said this or that :(. Smashed my nail where I fell earlier. I think my umbrella is beyond repair, though will give it a go. Seems strange not getting the train tonight. Wondering what the traffic will be like. Not something I've had to think about for a while!
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

  • Hope you get the deposit back Fuddle. That's very unfair :(
Fingers crossed for you Unix. x

Have finally finished the last of the foodies gifts today so all th hampers are good to go. Each one has HM liquers, chutneys, jams, pickles, jellies, pralines, fudge, truffles, mince pies and cakes.

Have managed to leave a few bits for ourselves to see us through Christmas and next year. :D

Really excited about Christmas now. DH finishes work tommorrow and we will have a lovely family Christmas. New year will be spent with extended fammily visiting and even a meet with another toughie poster who is making her way through the snow for Hogmanay ;).

If I don't get a chance before the big day I hope you all have a lovely Christmas.

I just feel sick. Hate having to be patient. This is torture.

Hang in there Unixgirlwe're all rooting for you. Just a thought - if they have decided that you are the one for them (and why wouldn't they?) sometimes other departments are involved and their priorities are very different - no news is good news! DH once waited nearly 3 months & found out the guy who had final say had died!! He did get the job though
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Madartha have just looked at your location and can see that it would be difficult, or downright impossible to go and get reduced. I am really lucky, walking distance of Asda, Sainsburys and Iceland, bus pass to get to Tesco, Morrisons, C0-op,Aldi and Lydl.
and of course my local market.

My health, mobility, and eyesight are failing now and I am very conscious that my luck maybe running out. But Hey Ho, never say die etc. I am really pleased this Christmas that I am able to share my good luck and donate to the foodbank, the homeless, and especially close to my heart the local Womens refuge.

I am 4 family members down this year and have used the money I would have spent in memory of them and this has made me very happy.

  • nuttp, hopefully thanks to you he should now get some help. a couple of years ago on nye i gave my super big snuggly warm scarf to a man trying to sleep on the bench in the park. i reported to the police when i got home but by the time they got there he had decided to move on.

sevenup, thats beyond words!!! i was a homecarer for a while, mostly for the elderly. some of the stories the clients told me about previous carers were shocking. i have no idea how people can treat others the way they do, especially when they are vulnerable. i hope something gets done about your daughters carer x
fuddle, fingers crossed you will get the full amount back
unixgirl, fingers crossed that you hear quickly and that its good news

happy birthday to those celebrating in the run up the christmas x

I should have finished work for christmas at 12 today(school cook) but was asked to help out at DDs school while the staff were at a funeral. as soon as the girls knew they wanted school dinners. NEVER again. After seeing the dinners they are on packed lunches permanently. My 2 are both in the infants (7&5), they are very active and have healthy appetites.
Their school dinner consisted of 5 pieces of ravioli, a slice of buttered white bread from a small loaf, approx 4 slices of carrot and a little stars yogurt. I've put complaints in to both the school and the town hall(coucil do the catering). I came home before i picked them up and made them a sandwich each to eat on the way home and sure enough the first thing they both said when they came out of school...mummy i'm hungry.
I have lots of other issues with the procedures, the kitchen, the staff, the food and the portions, but probably shouldn't air them in public ;)
should have a response to my complaint to the council by tomorrow morning.
