    Good luck Unix.

You are indeed a softy Smiley ;)

Re Xmas and Birthdays, my birthday is at the beginning of February. It's too soon after Christmas for most and too close to Valentines to be separated. Rather than worry about that, I went a stage further and we got married on my Birthday. Thus combining as much as possible into the one day!

My brother is Jan 1st and has rarely had a birthday without a hangover.

I think I might have grown up - a bit, only a year before my 50th birthday (if I keep saying this for the next year, it may sink in "i am 50 next year, I am 50 next year" rather than "surely I can't be 50 next year!!!"). Yesterday was our work's do - and I had a couple of spritzers with the meal, left half a glass of white wine on the table and drank only water or lemonade after that! Everyone else had progressed to shots of sambucca and then cocktails. And despite cries of "Oh go on - it's christmas" I refused all offers knowing I have to function today. so *proud* face on :D

At least I have pretty much bought everything now - this is someone who had nothing less than 2 weeks ago. Also had the "present" conversation with my brother, and we decided we wouldn't but would go out for a drink instead - much nicer.

    Have a good day all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Good luck Unixgirl. As they wanted to interview you before Christmas, hopefully that means they'll get back to you before Christmas as well. Here's hoping for a nice Christmas present for you

DD1 was due on Christmas Day but arrived exactly a week early. Better that than late, I think, because at least everyone is in party mood before Christmas whereas afterwards it's hard to rev up again. I used to be quite strict about not putting up the tree etc till after her birthday but then she decided she really liked having all the decorations up by her birthday so now we do it on the third Sunday in Advent (Gaudete Sunday - seems appropriate)
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Morning everyone, hope your all safe and feeling happy/better.

Yesterday i had a day in peterborough with my DD and her best friend from school who has a little girl aged 18mths. She is soooo cute, as an extra nanny i bought her a peppa pig bag and £1 book. She was very happy just to be out and about.

On the way from the carpark into the town we came across a homeless man who was walking very badly, on looking at his feet he only had 1 boot on. His foot looked like it was dark purple. It was so upsetting to see, how can we let our own fellow people be like this and then we send aid abroad?? I dont have much money but all i had was £10 and a few pence. Now my shopping budget for a week is around £40. I gave the man my £10, he smiled and looked like he was unsure to accept it.

I wish i could have done more, is there anyone you can contact to say your worried?? His foot was purple and he looked like he could hardly walk on the leg. What if hes really poorly? Will anyone else care??

So yesterday i just had a window shop day, and we ended up grabbing a tea and a mc d's burger. Was nice just to wander aimlessley among the crowds obviously trying to do the 'last minute presents'

Must prepare tea fro tonight and off to work i go!! take care x x x

That was so kind of you, in answer to will anyone else care, you can ring the police and tell them you are concerned about a vunerable person and they will check it out.

well. I think it went ok. Although my umbrella snapped in half on way there and slipped. But managed to make myself look presentable.

I'm going to change the words of the mariah carey pop song "alll I want for christmas is a job"!
