Oh Meme hope the little one will be OK.0

Meme - horrible news, fingers crossed they can get the little one sorted.
I had whiplash about 8 years ago, someone drove into the front of us as we met in a country lane, it took a good few weeks before the pain was fully there and took four years before I could comfortably raise my hands above my head again. Pins and needles every night when I slept and constant nagging aches were draining. I had physio on and off over the time which helped some times. My advice is to get it noted at the GPs that he was involved, that he's had some discomfort and if it gets any worse go back and get seen again. If you need to claim anything on your insurance for lost work days etc then it helps if you've got drs notes to back it up and have kept a list of anything medication you've brought/dates/times of pain etc.
I know a lot of so called experts say whiplash doesn't exist but having been through it I can tell you it does and it ruddy hurts!
Need to get the house back in order today, DD2 is full of cold, DD1 is off to work for the day and I want to pop out and pick ups few bits of fresh fruit and veg for the week and a nice magazine to take with me tomorrow when I go to Brugge....I only buy magazines when I'm going on a journey, it's my treat.
Will make two dinners tonight, so DDs don't have to argue about who's cooking when I'm not here."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Pooky - I think most doctors say whiplash is a lot rarer than everyone thinks, seeing as nearly everyone claims for it now. I've also had it, and initially assumed I was OK, then decided I wasn't, but didn't think it was whiplash until the physio pointed out that it was. I was stationary and someone went into the back of me in the snow. And my headrest wasn't set up properly which I now understand a lot more about.0

Meme - what awful news, bad news at this time of year always seems magnified.
Have woken and realised I need a boot to get moving, loads to do and no energy, am planning on collecting the snow machine this morning and will do a little bit of shopping whilst I an out.
Have got the washing on and if I can keep up the momentum I may get it all done today. Rest of the week is a flurry of appointments and school stuff so anything not achieved today has a serious chance of being next weekend before it gets done.0 -

Parrots are like 3 year old children. A friends' had amazing timing. He also put his coat on when you were leaving. His wings would come up and he looked for all the world like he was really putting on a coat.
(((Hugs))) for those that need them It has been a very sad few days.
Fuddle hopefully you will be a little straighter by the end of the day but don't over do it. It will all still be there tomorrow. Enjoy your new home.
I had three different physios after my accident and the best one had done sports physio. She was a bit rough but I could really feel an improvement after she treated me.0 -
Afternoon all
fuddle I hope the move continues to go well and that you aren't too stressed. Congratulations on your new home :T
meme30 I'm glad the biscotti turned out wellMy thoughts are with that poor little mite and her family. I hope she has a speedy recovery.
Possession I hope that your DH is feeling better today and that the car is quickly fixed.
Yesterday I had an unexpected shift in the shop. I popped in to drop some things off and ended up staying for 3 hours to help out. I hope Santa has noted that and it helps shift me over onto the nice list.
Then I fed the masses sausages, beans and mash. I catered for 14 and then there were only 11 of us, so the leftovers have been layered in a dish and will be covered in grated cheese and baked for dinner tomorrow.
Today I have had a play in the kitchen and made 24 gingerbread cupcakes with cinnamon buttercream icing and some more shortbread. I'm making them with other things to give as Christmas presents, Wednesday and Thursday are present making days. In the meantime the ladies at Knit and Natter and in the shop will be happy with the samples. I'm cooking the hunk of dead cow that DH insisted on buying for dinner along with lots of roast potatoes and yorkshire puddingI'm not in the mood to cook but I am in the mood to eat so will have to cook. I need to work on DS1 and DS2's cooking skills.
In the meantime I think I might have a little nap......take care everyone xxx0 -
Well thankyou Mr T for our Hobbit tickets, it was very good, but boy was it long! We were 3 1/2 hrs in the cinema and were only 10 minutes early. DS is now raring to read the book and we are all talking like Gollum (my Precious). We drove the car on the 40 minute drive and it was fine so I'm wondering whether we could put off having work done on it till after Christmas. The bumper is coming away on one side though so perhaps it wouldn't be a good idea at motorway speeds. There was a message on the phone from a solicitor presumably in case DH wants to claim compensation for whiplash - I see solicitors work on sundays now!
I was meant to make some more hamper stuff today but that has gone out of the window and Christmas is getting ever closer ...0 -
Hi everyone, great news on how well organised yoou were fuddle. Today has been one very busy day. First i went and collected a microwave from someone on freecycle and took it to my DD house. It was greatly recieved!! Then i popped to Mr T, got bread etc nothing major. Was just leaving the carpark and someone reversed straight out and hit the front - she said its only a graze to the bumper. Not the point really, as i can ill afford to have a respray in the summer. OH has checked and its got a small crack. She has reluctantly given me her name and address, she just kept saying it was only a nuge...grrrrr.... Tomorrow i will call our insuranc cmpany and find out what i need to do - have no idea as never been in the situation before.
Then this afternoon we went to see OH sister and family, nothing strange in that but i havent had any contact with her since around 10 years ago. It was far easier to fo this that be involved in arguments. Today she asked us in for coffee, was nice to chat but i think i will keep it to a one of for the time being. Shes been excluded by the family as her husband has been declared BR, imagine how we would be as both me and OH have been BR in the last 5 years!!! It one of those things that they dont need to know about.
I have posted all cards now, and have put a santa ornament with a plant init on my dads grave. I had to be taken as i get sooo upset, if he could be back for 5 mins i would give everything for it.This next weekend i will be going to the dogs rescue centre, i am going to take some towels, blankets from the airplane (we borrowed them!!) and lots of basic food. Ive had strict instructions to not bring a doggy home :-(
Stay safe everyone xBSC member 137

Evening Toughies, feeling a bit brighter today as the cold seems to be making an exit. Five nights of 10 + hours sleep seem to have done the trick. Plus tea and chocolate.
I even managed a bit of scratching around on the allotmentino for an hour as it was sooo warm and sunny it would have seemed wrong to miss out.
Softstuff, I have just made your christmas biscuits for a friend. I knew I would have to road test them to make sure they're palatable (am carp at baking a lot of the time, no disrespect to the recipe) and they're nomnomnom.
Fuddle, mega congratulations on the move to your new home and may you and your family build many happy memories there.
Was talking to Mum earlier this afternoon who was suffering from a commonplace seasonal ailment called Ohmigawditsnearlychristmas. It's entirely possible that you, or someone well beloved by you, is also suffering from this affliction. Be kind to them, or to yourself, whatever the case.
My parents have my Nan at their home for several days over Crimble and give up their bedroom. Last year Mum cleared off a table top into three of those banana tray boxes and shoved them into the loft. She was panicking and going to do the same thing again, then she opened the hatch and say the 2011 boxes still there, still untouched, and had second thoughts.Outta sight, outta mind.
I'm chilled about it all, planning to eat and endure the presence of a TV by swigging the Emva Cream if necessary. Never can work out why sherry is considered a ladylike beverage as I've always found it a lot more potent than Jack D or wodka. Dangerous stuff............:rotfl:
