Mar - hope things turn out ok for your son x
GQ - Fuddle - MrsLW - great to see you all posting again.....you're all very much missed . We just need Byatt back now!
I've spent the day in a virtual whirl of domesticity, we woke to snow and it's snowed on and off all day, just enough lying about to look pretty but it's all gone this evening. I've cleaned and hoovered and cleaned some more, reorganised cupboards, bottled more wine and cooked a roast (well the veggies were roasted, the meat was a turkey leg done in the SC). I've even cleaned out the cutlery drawer!
I've been very lax lately and the tumble drier usage has crept up so I've made a mental note to get my backside into gear and bung the airers infront of the fire overnight. Laziness has crept in as I'm not sleeping well but I need to give myself a shake and a good talking to and get back at it. I've made a list of goals for next year (I turn 40 in 6 months) and I want to make a decent profit from my crafting so I've plans afoot for that.
Hugs to all, I love this thread so get posting or I shall cry."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Hey GQ - if you've got General Malaise we'll have to get you a promotion, hows about being an Allotment Marshal (One step up from a Field Marshal) and the Malaise will get its marching orders, yes? Seriously, I hope you do pick up soon, I find as I get older the cold is harder to deal with, although I love the winter months but being really cold is not fun at all, sending you Hugs, just because I can my friend, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Evening all, and welcome back to some familiar faces! Talking of which, has anyone heard from KatieOwl recently?
Take care Mar, I will send positive vibes when I retire to bed with my knitting (which I currently have planned for about 9pm).
And helpful hint for anyone attempting the Hairy Bikers Florentines: when they say space the blobs of mixture 1 inch apart - listen to them, they know what they are talking about! Guess who put them a bit closer and is regretting it:eek: They are now cooling out in the kitchen so I'll see what they look like in a couple of hours.0 -

LOL, literally, neighbours must think I'm a strange bird, sometimes chuckling away at something I've read here on in a book or hurling abuse at some politco on Radio 4's Today programme.
Getting a shorter fuse as I get older, less tolerance for male cow droppings, IYSWIM.
Hokay, have been sleeping v. badly lately so attributing this to hanging around on the web too late in the evenings so will be experimenting with an earlier online "bedtime" and putting the pooter to bed.
Until tomorrow, toughies, parting is such sweet sorrow etc etc so on and so forth. GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

You and me both, for some odd looks when I was in a queue with loads of people walking past car to station and I was having a rant at the fool interviewing the chancellor and interrupting him being a pompous so and so ..... Fortunately lights changed so I was able to drive off ....... :rotfl:Start info Dec11

Mar. Squeezing hard and sending your family good vibes from here too.
I've just about thawed out from the market today. I was told it was going to be -2....they were wrong it was -4 when I got there  It wasn't that busy, but sold enough to make it worth standing there hand handed out some free samples of chilli truffles, which resulted in two orders for xmas. We did the Xmas market on Sunday, which also wasn't as busy as I'd hoped but we did OK considering.
I've got tomorrow off, but then am in the Cafe Thurs and Fri, for the first time in three weeks  Badly need the money, as apart from the massive bill I've to pay for DS (Due Thurs) the exhaust is falling off my car and needs URGENT attention now!
Spoke to my friend in the village earlier too, she had to have a biopsy yesterday for a 'mass' they have discovered in her bowel. She was finding sitting impossible and she couldn't get uncomfortable, and was talking about trying to find a rubber ring cushion online..."I said but you need it now really....give me half an hour and I'm sure I can rig something up?" which I did out of a piece of duvet...I save bits of old duvets for dog beds, a pair of tights, and a few elastic bands....I dropped it round with some leftover cakes from the market, and she said it was perfect! :T She's just sent me another text message to say she loves me :rotfl: She was a lot more cheerful now it's been done, and although she won't get the results until after Xmas, the hospital said that all the preliminary tests they've done show she's at low risk of it being something serious. Fingers crossed.
It's DD's birthday today, she liked her pressies from me. I bought her amongst other things, Elf on the Shelf, which I'd seen an American Blogger put on FB, Elf comes with a book telling his story, about how he reports back to Santa, who's been naughty or nice, and you are supposed to hide the model elf (cute and vintagey looking) around the house in the lead up to Xmas, and the kids are supposed to hunt for him every day. OH thought she'd think it was weird, but I thought she'd love it, it's a forever sort of tradition thing, I thought she'd have fun with it with her BF, and when they have kids they can carry on... I was right. Glad, because it wasn't particularly cheap! She had a couple of other bits too. She also got some really good news today about work!
Anyway, having spent all weekend and yesterday and today being food related, I am now off to relax by watching Masterchef :rotfl:
