Best of luck Jem. Don't be scared to ask lots of questions, get them to write things down for you too as its surprising how much you forget when your brain is racing away. Is there anyone else that can go with you? Huge hugs x"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

Jem - massive hugs. Thinking of you.I wanna be in the room where it happens0

But Pops, that isn't rent, it's just the fees we pay, we have a mortgage to pay too!
There are some units to rent in the complex, a single bed one rents to a permanent tenant at $360 a week.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Morning all. I have jsut caught up on several pages worth of posts - ((hugs)) to all in need and best wishes for good news for those facing hospital visits.
I have had a horrible nagging headache since the weekend and it just wont go so i feel very snappy towards the children when they start shouting instead of talking. They are trying to be quiet but kids and quiet dont really go together do they? And i have brownies tonight. We are making a christmas tree decoration with fabric so that will be fun and im sure there will be (loud) games to round out the evening.
I got to the supermarket at exactly the right time last night for some ys bargains. Chunks of deli cheese for 29p, chunks of chicken pie for 29p, huge pack of streaky bacon for 99p, a large pack of deli ham for 19p(very nice with egg and chips for dinner that was). I also bought some computer games for a pound each so i was really pleased with that too and so were the children when they saw them. They are hiddon object style games so thye are learning observation skills whilst playing too.0 -
Morning all
Just a quickie as the kitchen beckons!
Jem will be thinking of you today very good suggestion to write down questions but I suppose as its first consult for the diagnosis it may be hard to know what to ask at first.Make sure you get his/her secretaries number if you are able to as they are usually wonderful if you have any questions after the event (I always forget something!)
-5 and a severe frost here this morning so a perfect day to stay in the kitchen and warm up
Our northerly contingent may need defrosting later if the weather forecast is anything to go by *shivers* and Mar and our scottish peeps may need a St Bernard or two complete with sweeties! Stay safe all XX
Rightyho getting too comfy need to shift into gear
Have a great day all XXX0 -
Just a quick visit to say hope you manage the bus ok and everything goes smoothly at the hospital Jem. Definitely agree with everyone about asking questions, writing things down and then asking again!
No snow, but lots of grotty rain forecast here.
Take care everyone.0 -
Was at youngest son yesterday for a quick visit, noticed his hands were freezing and he had no gloves. Asked where's the fingerless gloves I knitted you? - "Erm well.. the ferret was sitting back in a rabbit hole, I was fed up waiting and couldn't get her to come out. So I took the glove off and waved it at the entrance - and the wee bu**er shot out grabbed the glove and vanished back down the hole with it" !! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0

Hope everything goes ok at the hospital Jem. I'm still waiting for the outcome of my MRI. Health service where I am is shocking.
Bought fizzy stuff (16 cans of irn bru for £4) for OH yesterday and he's guzzled his way through 4 of them already! So I've put them back in my car. SS's car is playing up, washers are sounding but nothing is coming out front or back. So there was me and his Dad outside in the cold last night after we got home from work (7:30), SS still in his bed, and we're trying to fix it. I think its the pump thats away. But when SS got up (about 8pm) to go to work, there was no 'thanks for trying to fix it' he was just in a complete mood that his car needed fixed. No reasoning with him that parts wear out, doesn't matter how new or old the car is. I was fuming! We were thinking about his safety, especially in weather and road conditions like just now (and where we are) the washers are essential. I can't even see that he will have had the sense to have gone and taken his car to the garage this morning. But I'll find out when I get home.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -

We keep a 2litre bottle of water in our car (tap water were not that posh we wash our windows with bottled water :rotfl:) because at this time of year the squirters freeze anyway, last year we filled ours with neat antifreeze to try stop it happening and they still frozentrying to use them when there frozen can break them aswell this happened to us 2 years ago but it was a real easy and cheap fix, hubby did it himself and it took longer to get in at the wipers then it did to fix them.
No snow here yet and it wasn't even frosty this morning, but thats because it was raining, theres a real bitter wind tho, i'm finding it hard to get out of bed in the mornings, for some reason my cosy bed and radiator like hubby seem more apealing than a nippy house which to be fair isn't cold but isn't as warm as my bed and fighting with 6 year olds to get dressed.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Morning everyone, just a sharp frost for us here. OH is taking me for a day out on sunday to the christmas market, im so looking forward to it!! Saturday he is going to do the tree with youngest DD as i will be at work. I would like to be there and do it, but hey ho. As from next week looks like im going to be down to 3 days a week. It will be nice to not do as much work, as i have so much tocatch up on.
Eldest DD rang today, in tears. She has a new job (feb) and finally got to do what she trained for, for 3 years as a beautician. The jobs are not out there from youngsters, as everyone wants at least 2 years experience. Well it seams as she is the only one at her workplace, as below is a hairdressers, she is really busy. Today she is working 830am until 10pm tonight!! Her defence was, well i dont want to let my regulars down so from now until christmas she is totally over worked.
I know i cant help her, but i do worry as she mite be doing far too much. Kids hey!!!
Time to hop in the shower, and get ready for work.BSC member 137
