GQ, what we use to do at the factory was put cold, damp paper towel's round our wrist's and at the back of the neck, and it did work, so maybe a flannel for the neck and see if you can get hold of 'sport' cold compress type wrist band's, try one of the chemist's.hth

:p Don't rub it in, pet.

And I'll have you know I have the body of a Greek goddess, an early version of the prototype from the Cyclades:

Check out those thighs..............:rotfl:Thanks for the tips, boult and others.

I have decided that it's too hot to have to oven on, so have improvised a scratch supper; half tin tatties, tin sardines, half tin mixed beans, chopped red onion.

Then it occurred to me; won't need a fan on tonight, I shall be generating my own personal wind...........:D

Must keep it brief as I'm waiting for a bath to run. I took off from the gym and played in the garden.:D

Princess--so glad they have a move in date. I agree with Mrs. LW--stay neutral, even if it is tough. Having a place to go that doesn't involve arguments will be good for them.

Mrs. GQ--a cold neck wrap can help, as can iced peppermint tea. Or spearmint tea if you're taking fuddle's suggestion.

Fuddle--vitamin B does wonders for me. It can also help with low energy, although if I remember correctly it is a significant reason why kelp is good (it was you and it was kelp that was really helping, wasn't it?) I also take vitamin D in the wintertime. I'm a bit of a delicate hothouse flower, what coming from warmer climes. It helps me get through the grey here.

OH really loved the twice baked potatoes and seems a bit calmer about the scary exam tomorrow now that he's done well today. He has worked so hard for tomorrows. And, you're right fuddle, it is all one more step in the right direction of us having a better life.

Hugs to those who need them, esp. those poor little bunnies.

That was Mardatha fpk, mar also swears by vit D too I think, I will look into it as already intrigued by the change in our Mar of late.

You lot make me laugh you daft bats. Reminds me I must go catch up on SHTF thread. I don't post much but I keep my eye on you!

Oh sorry! But it definitely makes a difference for me. Not exactly as drastic for me as for Mar, but it does help and when I stop taking it for a few weeks I do notice a difference.

Also, wanted to say Mrs. LW--the trip to visit your daughter sounds lovely and like loads of fun.

GQ, you gave me a nice giggle. Thanks. Also, I prefer a damp hanky to a flannel or a paper towel--less bulky and more refined;)

In much better spirits after my dig in the garden and the subsequent much needed bath. I've been digging out a new corner. It has some sort of vine-y thing that is like the devil's own weed. It also sort of looks like some sort of Alien inhabiting the middle of the earth. It just keeps going on and on. I think I've got most of it cleared out, although the master plant appears to be a hacked off thing right next to one of the strawberries. I won't risk trying to dig it out until they're turned red. I also unearthed loads of stones and even a full sized brick that was buried about 8 inches down. They're making a nice boarder around the beds:) I'm starting to thin the broccoli plants, although the packet seems to say they need such a lot of space--30cm. I had to get my tape measure out--I've tried moving a few of them to see how many of the plants I can manage to get out of this batch, but some of them might just have to make do with a little less than 30cms.

Of course, nothing I do will make those strawberries go red.

Right, enough of my gardening natter. I've just wanted one for so long and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

I think it time for an herbal tea and something on the iplayer. Hugs to all.

    Evening everyone!

It's been a cracking day here, after a dodgy start. None of the humidity that some of you seem to have and wall-to-wall sunshine this afternoon. We have just come down from the garden - it was so nice I cooked our tea up there - sausages and onions in baguettes - yummy, and more so for being cooked Alf Resco :rotfl:. We have finally realised that there is little point in keeping to the weekends for a wee drink, as we work Saturdays, so had a couple of cheeky Harvey Wallbangers in the lovely evening sun. Sadly that is the last of our stash of ingredients, so wont be having them for a while now.

The garden is full of baby birds and it is so nice to hear them all screaming at their poor parents for food! Poor birds are being run ragged by their babies, I bet they look forward to them all flying away.

I made my milk carton strawberry wall today - took my drill and screwdriver up and set to. I now have four strawberry plants hanging in their cartons, and two neighbours collecting bottles for me so should be able to fill it soon. It will take 21 bottles, so lots of lovely strawberries next year (cross fingers!). And as a bonus I realised that the tomato house, bought last year, but not used as the garden is too windy, will fit over the whole thing, so I can give them protection early in the year. so hopefully a better harvest. Picture will follow when I have a few more containers up.

Hope everyone has a good night's sleep - weather and selfish neighbours permitting!

Hello all from sunny Center Parcs! We are now mid break and feeling very chilled, done masses of swimming and a couple of other bits and the kids are currently fast asleep after wearing themselves out again. Feels a bit funny being here in the summer as we've only ever been extremely off season before. Going to have to bite the bullet and book more adapted accommodation next time though as we have struggled with the steps up to the front door of the villa and the long steep path. Other than that the Rolls Royce of buggies has been a godsend and has been much admired by several other guests and staff here. Speaking of staff, our little guys must be memorable as we were remembered by a couple of staff in the Caf! Rouge - one waitress even remembered DD's favourite drink and breakfast!!!!

FPK - congrats to OH, wish my DH would get his exam result so quick! His exam was last week but he won't hear til August and I just now that by the beginning of July he'll already be plaguing me about it not having arrived yet!!

Feel like a bit of a fraud in here really as lounging about with a glass of white wine and the patio doors open to a lovely view of the lake is hardly tough!! Thankfully you all know we save hard and earn our 'treat weeks'. DD and Ds are really enjoying themselves too, DD is really getting the hang of swimming and we keep telling her that when she finally gets it she'll actually be at an advantage for once as with the shoulder muscles she has developed through using them more than her lower body she should be a really powerful swimmer even if she is still slightly wobbly and frame reliant on land!

Not really surprising that waiting staff remember our kids though as they shared a portion of moules mariners for dinner last night and had the confit duck tonight and DD had the smoked salmon eggs benedict for breakfast - she starts jiggling and shouting eggs ben, eggs ben as soon as she sees Caf! Rouge!

Hugs to anyone who needs or wants one

    Congratulations to Mr FPK:D

Sheila so pleased you managed to get some respite for the next two weeks. Its great now you can finally have some time to yourself. So now just chill and relax in your summerhouse :)

stiltwalker aw your dd sounds sounds gorgeous!
Well i got talked into going to stokesley today with two friends, it was so so hot, came back burnt! Had a cheeky pint, then went to my friends house so the kids could play together. Suddenly my friend pulled out a bottle a wine and we ended up sharing it! Very naughty mid week drink.
Ended up chatting about fifty shades of grey and other things ;) of that nature. Not good when trying not to laugh while sipping a cider.

We didn't get back till 7.30pm so shattered now, just waiting for the bath and get sorted for tomorrow. OH has gone out for a run so going to wait for him to come back to see what he wants for dinner.

Sorry peeps just been to lazy enjoying the fantastic weather :)
