morning folks,
we have some sun and wind here so got my towels out on the line sharpish... heavy rain forecast later when I plan to be out with my kids... I hope DH will bring the washing in if forewarned (the one laundry item that won't suffer from being left in a mangled heap by him!!)
Yes GQ we are in a 60s house, some down our way are council/HA, most private but they are council-esque (sp?) housing stock. Still mustn't grumble previous neighbours ran a brothel AND a cannabis farm under the guise of bringing up a family (HA house) - we had a helluva job getting rid of them, numerous agencies contacted and even joined forces with their other neighbours who were bad enough in their own right. Did feel sorry for whoever gets them next.... guess they will just keep moving on all the time.
Well DH nearly got a swing of the frying pan this morn. I was up before him, sorting cats/kids, towels on, bread started. He waltzes down... "is there any bread already made?" and a sulk when the answer came back no. I mean does this like the set for Blue Peter?! ho ho ho
Sounds like his lordship is descending so will hotfoot into the kitchen and pretend I am still slaving away. Make im suffer just a little, best to keep OHs on their toes a bit eh?
back later

This morning I ventured out to the local Sea Socuts Jumble Sale in the village hall, I parted with the princeley sum of £3 and this is what I got
Acomplete Scrabble game in a perfect box
A Scrabble board turntable
A Portugese wall plaque (it matches a set I've collected over the years)
A wooden carved salad bowl with matching carved servers
a Porridge Spurtle (stirring stick) carved with a thistle
A very tiny 2" high cut glass posy vase
2 x wooden butter knives
A stainless steel and wood Cake slice server
a beautiful wooden spoon, pointed end and very slim handle
A small wooden rectangular dish
2 x Brass Wall Hanging Candle Sconces
and
A cat tube for Pushkin Cat that is leopard print on the outside and cream fur on the inside with a little furry mousie on a string inside it that tweets like a birdie when it moves, Brilliant Fun!!!
Methinks it was a good haul!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
I'd say that's a good haul too Lyn. Funny we never seem to have jumble sales around here anymore(or I don't see them advertised)
Then again, I guess after recent events I'm better having less. My luxuries are books, food and CD's.
Another so so day weatherwise. Am going to look at fish in a pet shop with someone(more as a favour)no offence to the fish but I'd rather stay at home and rest. Its my good deed. At least the bus ride is free. So it should not cost me anything.
Had a poor night of sleep due to pain...at least I finally slept between 5am and 10am.
Will have a salad or yogurt, fruit and cereal when I get home. Then off to the theatre for The Mousetrap. Hope I can follow the plot:)"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

We have them on a regular basis and the Sea Scouts come to collect donations from the house on the Friday evening before the sale on Saturdays. I think the hire charge for the village hall must have gone up however as there was a notice on the door today saying the next sale will not be until November and will be the Christmas one inclusive with the normal one, I'll be sad if that is the case as it raises funds to enable the Scout Troup to run and does sterling service to the village as well, a sign of the financially constrained times we live in perhaps? FairyPrincessk,
Never had a leg cramp until I suffered Kidney disease and was in hospital they really hurt, seem to have got around that problem thankfully but lately restless legs/general aches and pains in the legs especially at bed time...
There are some great sites for food on the net, I must write them down, would hate to lose them and my bookmarked sites are nearly all food, health based. I've loads if anyone wants any more. Too many really."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

A very good haul! Well done Misses
'tis quiet here, they're about but not being noisy so I think you're rightI shouldn't moan as it's my LL who is building them but this batch is to sell and what with the government new build mortgage scheme they are really pushing by the look of it.
We did go out but it wasn't free. I was off to hobbycraft but then though The Range. I didn't get crosss stitch stuff but did get cheapy wool so off in a mo, armed with a cuppa, to browse ravelry for a free crochet pattern to make my winter hat, scarf and gloves set. I have realised a boob - my coat, hat colour and car match, all petrol blue! Also got a ball of pink because want to make a granny square blanket for girls in the back of the car. Multi coloured squares but pink will be a start.
The Range have craft stuff packs for £1 so I have one making rings and the other is making a wind chime. They are in their element. We also got a little wooden box each for 30p. They are going to decorate mine for me to put my jewellery inThey are interested in decoupage but the kit costs a fortune!
So all is happy, quiet and content here.

POPPERWELL:
Have a look at Magnesium for restless legs also for sleep problems. That and vitamin D have made a great difference to me this year.

I have terrible restless legs. It is also linked to anaemia so make sure you are not anaemic. I use the Ibuprofen extra strength gel and apply to my ankles. It really calms my restless legs down enough for me to get off to sleep and stop the jumpiness.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Thanks for the suggestion Esther:)I have some suppliments that have magnisium and Vit D but perhaps not enough...someone else suggested tonic water now I come to think about it...another idea?
Good point Molly...Mum was v restless in the end and needed a blood transfusion. I have regular blood tests and recently had a diabetes check and seem ok that way but always worth watching and being careful. Also trying to make certain I get all the nutritional value from many foods in my diet.

Fuddle, ignore the kits for decoupage, its cheap and easy. You want a pile of old magazines, wrapping paper offcuts and the like. Cut out the designs and use PVA (which is a cheap white glue used for all sorts of things - dries clear) to paste them onto your chosen object. Build up layers until you've got the design you want, then either a couple of final coats of PVA or if your feeling posh varnish. Patience in cutting out and only adding a layer at a time and waiting for the glue to go off is the key.
Mrs LW that's a stunning haul.0
