Thanks MG I was thinking I might do flowers that way on a bare boring fence... don't need any more veg as it's in the ground.
I just found on the BBC weather site that I'm not 300m above sea level, I'm 404! Getting vertigo now! :D

404m .....................so when you got out do you wear wellies or crampons?

    Thanks All,
Went out for adhesive tape to make a repair on my camera(design fault means a little door on the case won't stay shut)flimsy design and I suspect it will happen again if it was replaced but otherwise it is so good I'm keeping it. I forgot the tape. Came home with some fruit and half price(on offer)yogurt.

There's still some nice people around(I did not take my shopping trolley)and was struggling with my stick and carrier bags...a young man and woman walked me home and carried them for me.

Its not the first time...in recent years...

I also found out some news about my housing association which could be good or bad but has not seemingly been in the public domain yet...so interesting times ahead...

ETA The HA news would affect many across this area not me specifically...

3Ds I think you'll cope, although I wish you didn't have to. Might be an idea to keep an eye out on Approved Foods to see if flour etc comes in. There's nothing much on there at the moment I'm interested in, seems to be all snacks and chocolate. It must be very worrying about DS's op I know.
Pooky the rabbits are fine, will be getting them spayed next week after which I'm hoping they'll stop thinking of the sofa as a giant litter tray. At the moment they have 4 litter trays ... and a sofa.

Bear with me a bit I'm reading a few pages back still..

Possession was reading about your pizza making, I do a lot of pizza here and throw in a shake of schwartz red pepper, mint and olive salad seasoning into the mix for a change,or snipped chives when I have fresh in the garden,a dollop of cornmeal when I fancy it that sort of thing..it just livens up a base sometimes especially if you are running low on toppings :D

back to catching up lol XX

    Fuddle, nice pic indeed........

Nice to read about you girls with your gardens and whats growing for you......

I grow veg in pots and seem to do okay with it.....I like my flower/shrub borders alot I know you cant eat flowers , but I love a bit of spring / summer colour.......Plus my hens take up quite a bit of space and they produce food.....:D

My 2 great tit nesting boxes are now empty, both lots left within a day or two within each other, so today I cleaned their old nests out, it was nice to see what they built their nests with , lined with moss, dogs hair, feathers.....Looked so warm and homely:D.....

Im still a bit energyless today ,thinks its because of all the 4 hospital appointments ive had within the last week , lot of driving , and rushing about,it took it out of me, never mind at least I didnt miss any......

Its been cloudy here all of today , and this past half hour we now have a bit of rain, we could do with it, the ground is like chaff , its still very warm though, the weather is shot to bits this year , its not one thing or the other ..........
Im trying to watch " springwatch" now and type this and I think my multi tasking days are over , cant seem to do 6 things at once like I use to , so on that im off, hope your all well...Sheila

    Good pizza idea 3D!
Sheila I'm not surprised you're tired out with 4 hospital appointments. I know it's not easy for you to rest up, but be as kind to yourself as possible.

PS. 3D we have made inroads on our couscous mountain. In a few years we might actually need to buy some more!

See,now you made me forget what I meant to post in the first place now..I even made notes!!

Fuddle toilet cleaning! I got the best tip ever from MSE for limescale.Use a wetted pumice stone and gently rub on the limescale it brings it off a treat, even with 4 men in my house and ahem poor aim.I also do the sink with it,its fine on porcelain doesn't scratch it at all.

Courgette cakes,I grow yellow courgettes as they're easier to hide in cake shhh

PX87 If you have empty jars bottled cherries are lovely and easy to do and also make nice pressies :D

Nutty fingers crossed on the house front for your DD

Kez Glad you had a great day out. It's weird how a lot of kids with Autism really excel at baking I often wonder if its their ability to follow a recipe exactly to the minutist grain of flour as DS3 does!

Shegar try and put your feet up and have a rest it takes a lot out of you all that dashing around as well as waiting around for hours! Hope they all went well X

I just got the first Beechgrove dvd through on my free lovefilm thingie so plan to chill in front of the tv later with that :D
  • Oh what has happened to summer? I've just looked outside and it's as enticing out there as the drum of a washing machine set on a cold wash!!!!! The sky is leaden grey, and it's been dripping ALL day, it's windy and feels more like October than june, and my bed of foxgloves are all dancing a jig and dripping. The lurcher is getting a bit surly about going walkies, you can see that look of doggie disbelief on his face when you offer him out, 'you cannot be serious' is what it says, with one hairy eyebrow raised in scepticism, and I'm cold Brrrrrrrrrr. I wants the warm bit back please, please pretty please!!!!!

    Evening All!

Drum roll - today I picked our first strawberry of the year :rotfl:. Just the one, but it was big, so OH and I had half each - it was scrummy! I have now wrapped up the rest of the bed in enviromesh, I'm hoping to stop the badger getting to them before me! The plants are covered in fruit, it is certainly going to be a bumper year - I just hope we keep Mr Brock at bay.

I found some metal hooks in Wilko, ones used for hanging up garden tools. The were five for a pound so got them in the hope they will work for hanging my milk bottle poles - I am going pallet hunting tomorrow. OH is under strict orders not to throw away milk bottles. I will have a strawberry wall!

Hugs to everyone feeling down or with worries - you can rely on the Toughies to get you through!
