    Thanks Grandma and Kidcat,
It is good to have contact with others and especially when you know its genuine friendship, that people want to talk with you and share your company.

I am usually quite good at sorting problems thrown my way and not a natural born worrier, the current problem seems unreal.

I can see problems financially and physically for the future but did not see this coming. I can't believe that everyone does not have one room which is a bit untidy or you have items that don't quite fit elsewhere because you don't use them that much. The worry is that in future I will be afraid to have anything out of place. That it could become an obsession.

I can drop this now until nearer their return visit when I can say all went well or this is where we go next. Thanks for all the support on here too.

A quick hello and a cuppa on the house to you all, my friends.

Been out for a coffee with some friends, one is a friend of a friend but becoming a friend in her own right now. She is having a rotten time of things (divorce on the cards and other stuff) so my friend arranged for a couple of us to meet as its her wedding anniversary today and birthday tomorrow. Gave her a little gift and card for tomorrow and she was over the moon.

Had to deal with a rude and stroppy 8 year old this morning - his swim class is cancelled (by me) and some serious talking after school instead. My patience is being tested for sure :).

Quick tidy of oneself and off to my counselling skills course in 10 mins. Start the real skills bit today rather than group discussion type stuff and petrified  - few deep breathes and some r*scue r*medy and off I go.

Back this pm to check up on you all :D
    sq:)
  • Hats off big time to McCULLOCH who deserves a lot of good things in life for being a real friend to Pops in his time of trial, HOORAH for such good people!!!

POPS if it was only one room in this house I'd be delighted, unfortunately I live with a He Who Knows who was unfortunately born without even the tiniest vestige of a tidyness gene!!!!! He leaves a snaily trail of things wherever he goes and then always without fail says 'what have you done with .....'!!! Howsomever, he is lovely and I've had him for a lot of years and I wouldn't really want to change him one little bit. Hope you feel more in charge of the situation now, I think that feeling of it being out of your hands goes a bit when you have someone to share the problem with, thank heavens for the McCullochs of this world eh? Cheers Lyn xxx.

There's hoarding, untidiness and a house that is a home/lived in. That has love in it or memories. Or those that never have anything out of place. But isn't a home. I'm now unsure what they actually want.

I mean I'll feel that I am constantly being judged where others may not be. That's what I disliked about those who came in supposedly to help when Mum was ill but actually added to and caused stress that was not needed.

Here are a few examples off the top of my head where you could fall foul of the rules they want to enforce...what if your hobby was making models so you had bits and bobs all over the place? What if you make wine/beer and you have various bits of equipment in use at certain times? Or if you perhaps were into making crafts/jewellery/clothing etc...The way they are talking all these could be out.

In chuffed Mcculloch is able to be with you. If you need a third I'm here too. Was scared to say because I don't 'know' you. Seemed very wrong to go to a blokes house I had never met.

It is so cold. I said to girls this morning that I wished I had my gloves. House thermostat says 17 degrees. If it falls to 16 the heating will kick in. I'm ok in big jumper and socks though :)

Guess what? My cheque cleared!! What a cwap couple of months. I can now put that mistake to bed and move on. We're celebrating with a big Aldi shop tonight. :D I've also been making a list all the things (food) that have come in useful during this time and stuff tht I wished I had more of. We're down to 4 tea bags folks... 4 left! I very nearly failed on that front ;)

Kidcat you sound so resound and calm. The toughies cliche but 'where there's a will theres a way' Is OH likely to get other work soonish? I bet this has knocked the wind out the poor blokes sails and most probably needs time to regroup. :(

Must dash, my dog I desperate to go wee wee's but he doesn't like the wind and rain and will not go out!

Pops I often have sewing or knitting/crochet around and sometimes it does look untidy. I do try to have a tidy up once a day before dh comes home and most of the time we do not have visitors except my kids so I do not worry about it.

However my lovely loft room looks like a bomb has gone off and I keep putting off doing it. So many things have been hauled out for various reasons and not taken away or put back. I keep doing a little but I really need to spend a couple of days on it so I can do my sewing up there.
I am sure there is a lot that can be got rid of now.

Thank you for that...I know you only know me on here and you are right to be cautious, they always say meet a "Stranger" in an open place ie:a cafe, a pub etc...but you've nothing to fear from me.

As one of Mcculloch's friends has said in front of her husband she wants to meet up sometime and have a chat because she likes talking to me and probably because I listen to her, take the time and I talk of many things. I get that from Mum and Dad I guess.

Ok you've moved further away but there could be a time we may meet and that goes for a few of us on here that live locally.

Perhaps I am not supposed to say but its Mcculloch's birthday today...so wishing a happy birthday for today.

Tea bags are first on the left as you enter aldi too, I always miss 'em heading for the cereal and biiiiiiiiiscuiiiiiits! ;) hopefully there will be some 50% free tetleys tonight.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUCCOLLACH!! :D

Next time you have a trip to the town where I live, give me a shout and have a cuppa in a cafe. Then you can tell me off in person for having a go at you in the past. A very forgiving person is our pops.

Heating clicked on after all but think it was because the flaming dog was faffing going out the door!

Grandma my work in progress get stuffed under the couch. Oh envious of your loft room :D
