I have had a cheque for m wages!!! Ok, a cheque but at least I'm nearly there. DH coming to get it for the bank in about an hour. How long does a cheque take to clear?

I got a very snooty letter addressing the points I raised over the employment tribunal but it has an underlying tone of uncertainty.

Remember how I was saying I worked 15/20 mins nightly without pay? This is a point I raised in my letter threatening legal action. I occurred 7 hours of unpaid work in those 6 weeks. I have been paid 7 hours over time. Nobody gets paid for those extra hours, its expected and its free graft. I feel like I've won a small victory in my letter stating my intention for legal action with regard to this point.

Anyway, my pay is nearly here. :) all that said egg and chips tonight.

FUDDLE congratulations and well done!!!!!!! If the cheque is from the same bank as you use, ie you have Barclays and they do too. Then it will have funds available today. If not then I think it will be 5 days so Wednesday if your lucky.

As for the 7 hours extra pay, well you were entitled to it. Im glad you stuck up for your rights and you got your pay.

    Happy celebration tea.

Fuddle I think you can express clear a cheque as well - so you might think about using the overtime payment to cover the cost of that!

Great news on the pay Fuddle! It should take 4 working days to clear but it does depend on the account it's being paid into - check on your bank's website.

Thank you everyone. Another small victory...

The pay slip, letter, cheque and date letter was franked for postage was for Friday gone - the day they will have received my recorded delivery letter! I feel I have shook them into action even though its taken a while to get to me.

Another happy thing. I've just taken delivery for a box with tea bags, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, uht milk and free mug from the estate agents welcoming me to my new home (huh?) the box does say its backdated from December but... They'll be happy additions to me stash ;)

I'm happy to report that monnagran is sat in glorious sun listening to birdsong. The dear, dear lady insisted I kept her in the loop re: pay. So many selfless people amongst the toughies and I fr one would be much much weaker without you all.
  • FUDDLE brilliant result, so pleased you have a closure to the whole stressful and unhappy thing!!! Lovely of your LL to think of you regarding the play area, possible job in the future? I'm just pleased for you that you have managed so competently and got yourself through a really difficult time and even managed to enjoy a day out and a lovely bank holiday weekend without spending anything and without going into meltdown with the stress of it all, what a long way you have travelled my little pal, and my goodness how you've grown in confidence and self reliance over the past months, you're a cracker and I'm proud to know you, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Glad MONNAGRAN is having a lovely holiday, hope she's making herself relax and get some benefit from it, goodness knows she deserves a rest!!!

    Hi Everyone,
Must have a read and catch up.

My attitude today is one of annoyance and anger. How I was treated yesterday by those who visited from the Housing Association and how I just kind of crumbled and accepted what they were saying without question.

Probably because I did not want to come across as awkward, difficult as they have the upper hand if they want to put you on notice. And when there are two of them and you are on your own its their word against yours.

Even the form that he filled in originally quite straight forward(and not about the untidy rooms)They were only untidy(because I was going through rubbish)I shoved things in quickly which is being thrown out or finding documents that I may have to hang onto. I only stopped because they were visiting.

If they'd visited say at the weekend there would have been nothing to cause any upset.

Back to the form I was allowed to read through it after it was completed to see I was happy but how do I know that they haven't added something afterwards when they left and I still have no idea what is on the records they have for me and what they'll do with the images taken.

In retrospect I probably was treated as an idiot or simpleton, I am anything but. I'd like to say something now/when they return. I'd like to see my records and perhaps question something if I feel its unfair.

I don't know what he can do but I am going to see my Dr tomorrow and discuss what has happened or I want my views put down somewhere officially.

Even debating if I should get legal advice professionally or from Citizens Advice Bureau. A few things to think about...

Kind of feel I rolled over and gave in...

nutty - theres nowt so queer as folk as my nan used to say, you wore what you felt appropriately dressed in stuff the rest of them

I had small sips of dirolyte(sp?)last time I was like that...

For Mum's funeral I had no jacket/black tie but fortunately had black trousers and shoes, so had to buy the first two and have the sleeves of the jacket shortened.

  • Hey POPS you went with the flow as it doesn't sound like you had a chance to do otherwise. Don't feel like you gave in, it's so difficult trying to keep track of two people at once and stay in charge of the situation. You have made such progress over the past few months, and you are used to positive thinking so don't let this get under your skin, there will be a way to cope and sort out any problems, not of your making I hasten to add. You said they read your private letter? surely thier remit does not include things like that and you have a justifiable complaint to make on that one thing alone, let alone how they behaved to you in your own home. It might be they are just looking for ways to give you some help if you need it, but your GP should be a good point of contact if you are feeling so stressed by it all. Do you have a social worker, if so that might be a way of dealing with this, and he/she might be available to be there with you next time the LL does an inspection, might be worth asking, Keep your pecker up, Cheers Lyn xxx.
