Thank you greenbee, I will reserve at the library. I suppose with regard to ingredients that basil, tomato and mozzarella only get you so far.

Kidcat I've missed some terrible news there. Really sorry to hear of redundancy threat. Very frightening times I agree pooky. I don't know of any redundancies other than my mil but I have heard of wage cuts, DH included. Instability is just a horrendous thing to deal with.

Just popping by before I hit the sack.

Fuddle - didn't get time to check those books and can't see in the dark now boys are sleeping (though tried!) - however found a rogue cat who is not supposed to sleep in bedrooms.

Stripey Cat now aka Cheeky Cat was curled up on one of boys' beanbags and cunningly hidden from parent view by a toy crate - I know it was DS6 who hid him, those two have a special bond. This morning he (the cat) flew up stairs to wake DS way before offical waking up time, tried to intercept him but too damn quick even with his dodgy back.

Big, big hugs kidcat. Keep us posted with news.

more to say but battery low and cba to get the charger and bed calling anyway

Just posted this on the NB Toiletries thread:

I was just reading back to catch up. Last week on Polling Day, our DDs and I had this song on our minds all day!

    Fuddle,
Not at night but it appears that the bus to Sedgefield takes 15 mins so with the Bishop Auckland service being reduced should I want to go to Sainsbury's that may be better for me. Though BA has all the Supermarkets.

But the 21 now has on route Sainsburys and Lidl in Stockton(plus the markets)ASDA in Spennymoor and on my town Aldi and Tesco so only missing Morrisons. But that is on a main bus route in Darlington. So covered.

Delurking to say that (if you have a tame gp) you can get the nitty gritty comb free on prescription.

There is a letter you can print from NittyGritty's website.

Morning Toughies, damp and grey here today and quite a lot of rain overnight so the gardens are looking much fresher and greener as a result. Thanks to whoever gave the heads up on the Lidl 5kg Onions the other day, am off to the local one to buy some this morning, such a bargain and then pop in to the B & M next door to see what they have.

KIDCAT such trying times, but I am absolutely certain that whatever comes about, you will meet the challenges head on and deal with them and emerge the other side in full charge of the situation, thinking of you !!!

FUDDLE I love italian food too but find that the modern recipe books are very expensive in the ingredients they use in the recipes. I've got a Sainsbury's paperback published in 1992 called PASTA SAUCES by Frances Cleary that is my favourite to use, the recipes are easy to follow, reasonably priced ingredients for the sauces and most important the girls and He Who Knows like the food, if you ever come across a copy in a CS it might be helpful.

Have a good one everybody, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Have just looked on Fleabay and there are 5 copies of the Pasta Sauces book listed from £2.99 upwards in case you're interested, Lyn x.

Thank you mamabear :) I will try that, I had no idea that you can get it for free. I will look into the registration bit before I go incase I come across 'we don't do that here'. I liked to be prepared to fight my corner.

Speaking if which. Still no pay this morning. I haven't slept all night checking my balance. Still says £8.20 and getting annoyed now. I have called ACAS again this morning. They advised the legal route or their conciliation service. I have opted for them to act for me. A conciliator will call me in the next few days to ask me what I'm owed. I have the figure here, before off takes. ACAS will work with the employer and me to get me my pay. It's a free service and hopefully enough to get them to think 'hold on, she means business here, best get on the phone to the accountant, get the figures and get the money transferred'. I guess it doesn't work like that but in the eyes of employment law, so I'm told, that paperwork logistics is not a reason to with hold pay without knowledge or warning and certainly not without giving an expected pay date. They have had 7 working days to rejig those figures and should I go over drawn or a DD bounce ad incur charges I will be taking them to small claims court, even more so now I have an ACAS case number.

As you can probably tell I am very wound up this morning, angry but also worried.
  • Hugs little one, deep breath and have a cuppa, then take the Alfie Boy for a walk and have half an hours calmness, you'll get it sorted but I'm glad you have ACAS on the case with you too!!! Love Lyn xxx.

Thank Lyn. Ill try reserve at library to have a look at first and then when on my feet I will look at investing :)

We're having cheese baguette and left over salad again for tea. It went down well last night too.

I can't take the woof out just yet as waiting for builder to come fix some cracks etc in the house. Will be out as soon as I can though! Can't beat a good walk when feeling like this.

Edit: didn't have that book but had a pasta sauce one by Diane seed. Reserved to try. I don't know whether authentic means old style or flash but worth a try :)
