well failed already at no buy nov:rotfl:been to hairdressers and bought mythgic oil £15:eek:in my defense I did order it 6 weeks ago at my last visit as thye had none in,hope it improves my very dry hair.Had a chat about colouring as thinking of stopping doing mine but seems there is no easy way to go from dark brown to grey....colour stripping not recomended esp for my fine dry hair:(there was a lovely photo on the salon mag of a woman with a short grey crop with brown eyes like mine and I'd love to go for it but not if it means growing out grey roots for weeks.Hairdresser did not offer any suggestions as to how to do it sadly:(

lots of outs today as did two Christmas boxes as pressies of unwanted toiletries(mostly beauty box items I have not used)and a big box for the womens refuge which i just need to check for weigh to post. You can do up to 750 greams for £2.20 2nd class but think once you get over 1 kilo you have to send 1st and it gets expensive, they are not doing a free post thing at the moment as far as I could see.

Need to go on the naughty step and its only the 1st but other than hairdye its the only in's since the start of Sept .

New job starts in a just over a week and i thought it was time to refresh my makeup a little, new start new me kinda thought process.

    MUA undressed eyeshadow pallette £4
MUA Mosaic Blush English Rose £2.50
MUA Mosiac Bronzer Natural Glow £2.50

Seen some really great reviews on different blogs and thought for the price i would give them a go :o Plus they was 3 for 2 in sup'rdrug so great value.:money:

I own the MUA undressed pallette and love it. I wear it most days.
Day 1 and I have an epic fail. Those of you who were talking about buying the Glamour mag with Nails Inc on the cover I hope you feel guilty. It hadn't even occurred to me before I read those posts...

IN: Nails Inc Motcombe Street, from the front of Glamour mag

    Sigh.

Look on the bright side though. The polish cost you £2.00 rather than £11.00. Last time these were featured around Christmas time I bought more than one as gifts for people.

  • Hi there strangers! I'm back to try again! I am not at home to count all my stuff, will hopefully get it done this week for you. (Moving house so a bit of an upset with everything at the moment).

Good luck to all the regulars and the newbies alike! x

Wow! Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :)

Really looking forward to getting my teeth into this challenge & trying to make some headway into my stash ........ will have a hunt around the house later as I know there will be other bits & pieces stuck away in nooks & crannies that aren't included in the above lists:o (which are in my toiletries cupboard!).

May even have a clear out of the make up etc as there's a drawer full of that lying around somewhere (stuff that is around 20 years old:eek::o and I'm sure could be binned)

Have decided not to set myself a spending limit as really don't want to spend anything unnecessary - the only thing on this months' list will be moisturiser! (she says ..... fingers crossed :o).

Think it'll take me at least a year to get through my stocks so here for the long run!:D

Welcome rising from the ashes. Rather than set yourself a spend limit have a think about what it is that triggers your spending and see if this helps. For me I was a real sucker for QVC TSVs and now rarely buy them as I know I end up drowning in the little bits that they filled the kits with. I used to justify the spend by saying that I'd give items away as gifts but I think that people have got sick of being given these bits as well. Enjoy the challenge. x

Thanks for that link. I have given TONS of my mum's stuff to various charities, but couldn't find anyone who would take toiletries.

Welcome to you too Hernia. Sorry that you've found yourself with a stash under very sad circumstances. Enjoy the challenge though. x

I don't think that's an unneccessary spend though if your hair needs it x.

So far i'm very impressed by it the texture is far more creamy than i was expecting and the blush seems very understated on me so it goes with the look i was trying to achieve :p

I think I have been very lucky with my hair, originally mid brown with natural copper and gold highlights, (hazel eyes and fair skin). I started to go grey in my early 40's, which I later found was caused by illness that crept up over a number of years. For many years my hairdresser added in brown and goldish streaks, then when I decided to bite the bullet and try "natural grey", she put less and less streaks in each time. WhenI knew I was to move 150 miles I just stopped having it coloured, it looked good growing out and I am quite happy wih it as I have several shades of grey (not 50!) and blondy bits and people ask me where I have it coloured. Because of holiday, illness, other's illness etc I have not had it cut for weeks, now a long bob, but do look a bit witchy. I feel I have a lot more "attitude" when it is chin length. The only thing for me being grey is remembering to add more colour with my make up as I am anaemically pale and can look washed out. Hope you find a way, is it worth having a word with another hairdresser who is a good colourist?, I think like all artists they are born not necessarily taught.

Oh no is this pink? I bought it especially for the red nail varnish as I needed it for a wedding and wouldn't normally buy glamour. Suppose I should count that as unnecessary then!

Oooh, I wonder if it has been mis-labelled, St James is supposed to be Ruby Red and has been on my wish list for a while. Only 1 mag left with pale pink in supermarket yesterday, will look for it when I go out later, but not optimistic as live in small town.

yup, its pink. its a very reddy pink - almost like they've scrimped a bit too much on the red colouring to save money when it was made!

when its on, it looks red but its certainly not a pillar box red and it does retain its pinkish tinge :(

Being a fellow polish addict I've bought two copies of Glamour - the blue for me which I'm loving though MrM says looks black and goth - and the glittery one for Emma.

MrM was going to pay for the shaving gel today but JL had none left which was a shame as they had GWP with 2 or 3 purchases. Ah well was not to be.

Have a lovely time in the Lakes. Whereabouts are you staying?

I found Glamour with the blue polish today, but not the red.

We are staying in the south lakes, Staveley, between Kendal and Windermere, a tiny cottage on a farm, it looks to be a bit in the wilds, so hoping no snow:eek: We have had loads of walking holidays in the Lakes, but will be car tours for me and perhaps sitting in the car and reading while OH and the real MM go for walks. Hoping that the Autumn colours will be good.

I hope you have enjoyed your week off, it seems to have passed very quickly:(

Ruby_Eskimo, have a great holiday, I would like to visit Budapest sometime.

Thanks:A, I will save £2 and not look for another Glamour. Considering I rarely paint my fingernails red, don't really need it:rotfl:

  • Really must try a LOT harder this month. Got to be strong and ignore all the Christmas gift catalogues and emails coming though (Yes that means you Mr L'Occitane).

I think about the only thing I might need this month is toothpaste, new heads for my tooth brush or mouthwash, tooth cleaning stuff just isn't exciting enough to keep buying more.

I UU a tube of hydraluron this morning. Was very disappointed with it, it was meant to boost moisture but it made my skin drier. WNBA.
