No Buying Unnecessary toiletries in November

Wow! Thanks for the warm welcome everyone
Really looking forward to getting my teeth into this challenge & trying to make some headway into my stash ........ will have a hunt around the house later as I know there will be other bits & pieces stuck away in nooks & crannies that aren't included in the above lists:o (which are in my toiletries cupboard!).
May even have a clear out of the make up etc as there's a drawer full of that lying around somewhere (stuff that is around 20 years old:eek::o and I'm sure could be binned)
Have decided not to set myself a spending limit as really don't want to spend anything unnecessary - the only thing on this months' list will be moisturiser! (she says ..... fingers crossed).
Think it'll take me at least a year to get through my stocks so here for the long run!:DGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250

Hi all,
I'm in again for November!
I had a month off last month, as it was a tough moknth.
I am also in the process of moving house!
I currently have both of the last two Christmas' s&g bags/boxes stuffed full of toiletries, plus several other boxes and gift sets full. plus the bathroom.....
At least its now confined to two rooms!! Haha.
I have some UUs already, and i'll be back tonight to list them
Have a good Friday all.0 -

If you have anything left when you move, perhaps this might be a solution:- Give and Make Up is a scheme that takes unwanted toiletries and distributes them to women in Refuge/Women's Aid shelters, when they have escaped domestic violence.
Quite a few of us supported this charity last year and sent in shoeboxes of unwanted stash. It doesn't have to be new or unopened; basically if you would be happy to give it to a friend, they are happy to take it.
Thanks for that link. I have given TONS of my mum's stuff to various charities, but couldn't find anyone who would take toiletries.0 -
just had an email from mirenesse about free trial make up so put some stuff in the basket BUT the postage comes to £84!!!!!!!!each item being charged p and p.....what a con:mad:if I paid $25 a month to be a vip I think it would be free but no way do I want any more boxes as have stuff in the stash that will last years:rotfl:plan to drop all boxes next year(actually only have SSB on sub)0

Oh no is this pink? I bought it especially for the red nail varnish as I needed it for a wedding and wouldn't normally buy glamour. Suppose I should count that as unnecessary then!0 -

Oooh, I wonder if it has been mis-labelled, St James is supposed to be Ruby Red and has been on my wish list for a while. Only 1 mag left with pale pink in supermarket yesterday, will look for it when I go out later, but not optimistic as live in small town. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Thanks for this, I didn't know about this scheme. I've used Women's Aid myself this year (but not reached the point where I had to go to a refuge) so I'd like to give something back to them. I will do a shoebox
Sorry to hear about your Mum Hermia. Hope you're ok. x"Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0 -
 The list has grown:eek: Honestly, I can't believe how many wee sachets of bits I've got stuffed away here & there
and am very suitably mortified and horrified:o:o
Red stuff is in use - not even started looking at make up etc yet:o:o (and may well leave that for another month!)
Blue stuff has been used ....... that's a first!:j:j

Thank you for the new thread sunshineyday, count me in again too. I had a good October, and hope to have a few u/u this month. Resisted all the TSV's and e-mails, but have bought yet more nail polish, it is a cheap cher up for me while I am semi house bound! I do so want to try Philosophy, but have quite a few nice things left from last Christmas yet.
Belated birthday greetings to seaside dreamer, happy flat move inapickle. Oh dear ValM you do have an expensive month ahead, it is annoying when it works out like that,
OH and I decided yesterday afternoon to try and grab a last minute holiday, so off to a cottage in the Lake District on Saturday morning, so hopefully a few of my extensive collection of mini sizes will bite the dust. I am still only partial weight bearing, on crutches, after my ankle op, so don't need much in the way of outdoorsy clothes this time, just as well as we need to pack for two plus dog (take as much for her as for us:rotfl:) plus bicycle for OH, so of to start my packing lists! Need to take some basic foodstuff, but will have to do a mealplan when I get there and see what nice local produce is available.
Planned purchases for November are a couple of the Glamour nail polishes if I can find the Red (on wish list for a while) and perhaps the blue.
Being a fellow polish addict I've bought two copies of Glamour - the blue for me which I'm loving though MrM says looks black and goth - and the glittery one for Emma.
Visited the Trafford Centre yesterday. Watched Skyfall which is brilliant. Can't remember the last time I enjoyed a film so much. We then stayed to watch McFly switch on the Christmas lights. Was a bit of a con considering we had to watch numerous other acts including the guy who won the Voice and was really dreadful before seeing McFly for about 10 minutes when they seemed to sing It's All About You over and over again! Still Emma was happy. We also went into JL and Boots and smelt the new Philosophy Pumpkin Pie, Candy Cane and an apple flavoured shower gel which were lovely. They're well worth a try when you get chance.
MrM was going to pay for the shaving gel today but JL had none left which was a shame as they had GWP with 2 or 3 purchases. Ah well was not to be.
Have a lovely time in the Lakes. Whereabouts are you staying?ruby_eskimo wrote: »Going to Budapest tomorrow and have decided that I want to get the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair from Duty Free. Have almost finished my sample size and love it! The texture of my skin used to be really rough (even with using AHA+BHA products) but this has made it so smooth! Might treat myself to the new Guerlain perfume as well, I like the scent a lot and it lasts all day on me. Plus might want to try and scout out some Essence or Catrice makeup while I'm in Hungary...
Have a lovely time in Budapest. Shopping in duty free is a highlight of any holiday for me. xBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
