No Buying Unnecessary toiletries in November

When my skin is having a bit of a fit I use Clean and Clear dual action moisturiser. I use it as a regular moisturiser twice a day, as a mask and as a treatment for individual spots (just dab a layer on and leave it). It makes a super smooth base for makeup and at the moment it is £3 in Asda or price matched in Sainsburys.
.
I might give that a go - keep saying I'm not buying any new products but this is first aid! Does it not dry the skin out?3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
Not many have actual best before dates (although I think Lush do with a lot of the products being 'fresh') but most have the 6/12/24 month etc symbols - although I've definitely used things outside of these without problems. I have had things go off though without ever having opened them i.e. separated, gone watery or gunky
Maybelline freebie foundation arrived today - I'm not sure if they've just sent me whatever they had but I've got 135 Creamy Natural when looking at the card I'd say I'm more a 125. Having said that although the tube looked much too dark, trying it on the back of my wrist, it seemed ok so may give it a try soon.
Heating broke last night and car failed its MOT this morning so I think I deserve a treat, I just can't afford one! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Yes, I think the 6 month, 12 month etc supposedly only applies once the product has been opened but I have also had things that are 'off' as soon as they are opened.
My freebie foundation also arrived today. Has anyone used these and knows how many applications you will get out of it? I don't wear foundation very often and want to try it out before a big night out just to see if it is OK.
You have my sympathy over the heating and the MOT. I had a flat tyre yesterday. Put air in and waiting to see if it needs fixing or replacing. Got up this morning to find that some lowlife had broken the wing mirror on my car and not owned up. :mad:3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
I have one more uu, a non permanent hair colour which does the job.
Don't think I will have anymore uu's this month but I am pleased to report that I have resisted all the special offer emails that I have received. Today seemed particularly bad for these. I am also determined that I will not buy the tsv on Sunday even though I really like the cleanser.VSP member #250 -
Finally finished a Biore toner. Supposed to be for acne prone skin. Don't really think it did anything but it got that last bit of grime off. Found it in one of the kids bathrooms 3/4 full and it took forever to finish. I'm pretty sure I started it in May. Replaced with a 1/2 full bottle of Clinique's acne treatment toner.
I'm having a greasy chin issue at the moment.
Tossed a tube of Perlier Snowdrop hand cream I found under the bed. It was beyond spluttering but I couldn't get the last bit out and it fell under the bed and I finally got around to locating it.
That's it.
Seeing as it's hell getting into the US from Canada, I'll just have to buy nailpolish down there and bring it back, because I know that it will either explode in my case or get taken by the evil security checkers if I try and take it on as a carryon.0 -
In the report my final UUs of the month:
Liz earle toner mini
White company conditioner mini
The toner was in the small spray bottle and withstood daily use for well over a month. Love the scent and WBA once stash depletes. Refilled bottle with BS cucumber freshening water.
White company conditioner was lovely smell, lovely feel on my hair...but was a mini from a hotel stash and have never seen anything since. WBA otherwise!
So my totals for the month are 30 UU and 18 IN which were all freebies or necessary.0 -
Another UU before the end of the month.
Biotherm Biosource gel exfoliant WBA nice and gentle even for my sensitive skin.
That's 3 UU in my first month and only 1 freebie in.
Also sorted my travel bag out and made an overnight toilet bag with small essentials and chucked a few hotel freebies at the same time. I stay in hotels at least once a week so only pick something up if its really nice.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Oh b****r, looks like I might need to be stocking up on LE products
google Liz Earle jobs and look at www. beauty mouth .com
looks as if the new corporate owners have flexed their muscles and bad changes on the way (just my personal opinion), wouldn't be surprised to see production coming from way out east, then likely no more bunny friendly products. already needing to re-source some of the lovely L'occitane goodies as they are now selling in China and will probably be forced to conform with the animal testing necessary there. I saw enought in the pet selling districts when I visited in 2010 to have any illusions that the lab animals would be well treated.
Thanks for the info MM - a sad day indeed. Lets hope not too many changes are afoot as I love Liz's products as they are now and wouldn't like to see too many changes.
My final UU (which ended up being a TA) for the month:
Bareminerals tangerine ligloss - WNBA - this had very little colour but wasn't really effective as a gloss over the top of something else either. It has been on my desk at work for ages and in a clearing out session binned it...
Another month ending on a minus which is good.

I have combination skin and it doesn't dry it out at all. I can't use products for oily skin as they leave my face feeling tight but this doesn't at all.
Here are my final uu for November
Balance Me rose otto body wash - wnba as just too expensive for what it is. DD used this but there are other natural products which are cheaper.
Herbal Essences Volume Shampoo - WBA, cheap and cheerful and does the job.
Superdrug Intensive conditioner for brunettes.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
