  • I haven't been on for a while but I have now managed to catch and and now for the update.

I didn't get any toiletries for my birthday :eek: very shocked at this but glad as well. oh took me for a surprise weekend away, had a fab time. My mother in law bought me a facial in the hotel spa, they used Yon Ka products which were lovely. I was sorely tempted to buy something but I resisted. I also managed to resist the hotel toiletry samples.

Also I need to have a party :beer:as I have UU'ed the following

500ml S&G shower gel - have another one of these in the stash so no need to buy more.
500ml S&G body lotion - this lasted forever. I would not be keen to buy another of these purely because I am bored with S&G.
Head & Shoulders shampoo - HG will buy another once my current one starts to splutter.

Scrappie - pleased to hear your good news, enjoy your hols.

emsjune - I had something similar with my gas and electric, they wanted to put it up by £20/month, it is staying the same now as I changed to another tarriff with the same company. They are a joke really, there should be one price for gas and electric from each supplier then you can compare the price the same way you do everything else you buy. It cost them the same amount to buy regardless of what they sell it to us for.

Had two ins from my Avon delivery

Sparkling shower gel - this is a winter one and smells very much like the Philosophy winter ones but only 99p.

Pur Blanca EDT - Really nice light scent and only £4.99 so I was pleased with that.

Painted my nails last night in No7 Temptress (very dark claret) and I really like it.

Hey everyone! Well done on the uus for the last couple of days.

I was just wondering if any of you lovely ladies know a cheaper alternative to clarins pure melt face wash gel? I like this stuff but it is far too expensive to keep buying.:(
I love this product and think it lasts a long time so not too bad but I always buy when it is bonus time for extra value or online from the Clarins site as they give loyalty points, free samples and have online specials that work out cheaper than instore.

Is this the one that turns into an oil and then rinses off? Boots Botanics did a similar one but it was a bit thicker, don't know if it's in the new range or not. It was marketed as just for eyes but I used it all over my face with no problems. Other than that I would suggest a cleansing oil; similar concept except it's already a liquid rather than melting on your face. I love the Mac Cleanse off Oil, has a slight citrus scent to it but it's not overpowering and does the job well.

Of course if I'm thinking of the wrong Clarins cleanser than please ignore the above!

Have tried the Bourjois Healthy mix concealer yesterday and I'm not impressed! Has a chalky finish to it and I think it's given me a spot on my under eye area. Will continue to use and see what happens.

  • About to buy something .... stop me!

Ages ago, I bought a Neutrogena Wave and loads of the cleaning pads .... and I really liked it.

BUT I managed to drop the Wave in the bath and it got absolutely soaked .... and hasn't worked since.:(

So .... I have all these pads (that really don't work well without the Wave) to use up and am seriously tempted to buy a new Wave........ found one for £4.99 on E*bay.

    Anyone else got one?

Did yours last a reasonable amount of time? (ie will it last if I try not to drown this one!).

    Thanks:)

    Hello Ladies!!!

It's been a long time, but I'm back - kind of!! Going on my hols on Friday, so won't be up for posting much as far to much shopping to be done.

For those of you that 'know' me here's a quick update

Mum had her op and reconstruction began at the same time. The remainder of the reconstruction will take place in the new yr. She is doing SO well, it's hard for me to believe what she has been through -but I'm really glad that it's over. She got the all clear to fly, so will coming away with me at the end of this week. Great news!

I go for my first appointment with the genetics centre later today - I will be teasted for the breast cancer gene, and then decisions will posibly have to be made. But will think about that on my return from holiday.

I am now back at work full time, following a phased return earlier in September. Enjoying been back, but not sure that I'm in the 'right job' as I know the pressures will begin again - it's the nature of the beast. So, trying to decide what to do, and it will probably result in me been redeployed, at a lower pay grade. Not the 'best' result - but I would much rather have my health and less money, than go through a year like this one again.

A huge thanks to all you ladies who supported me during those bad times earlier on this year - truely, you have no idea just how much of a difference you made to my days. Thankyou

I had my big birthday bash in Vegas and had a total blast - if you're gonna turn 40 that's the way to do it!

On the toiletry front..... things not so good!!!!!

Had a total meltdown and bought everything in sight at on point. I seem to have a good stock of Elemis PCMC day and night creams now! Also 'on impulse' (!!!!!!??) bought a Clarisonic Mia. Have to say though, it's great and it will be coming on holiday with me.

I hope that I will get back to posting on here on a more regular basis soon. Hope that you are all well and that your stash is vanishing before your eyes!

It's good to hear from you again scrappie. So glad things are going well with your mum's surgery/recovery. Your Vegas trip sounds wonderful and hope you have a lovely trip with your mum. Think about work on your return. Take care - Val x

I've been bad, I just ordered the Selfridges Lucky Bag. I have resisted the urge to sign up to one of beauty boxes till now and thought for £15 it wasn't too bad. Plus you might get a £150 gift card if you're lucky! Don't think I will be but it will give me a few treats to try.

Just had a look at this and it's now sold out so probably a good thing. Does sound lovely though. You must report back about what you get inside.
I want an IPAD so it will go towards that - I shall open my SPC at the end of the month so can't wait to see what is in there too. I have been adding £5 for every TSV I would have bought previously but have managed to resist so it will hopefully be a reaonable amount..

You've done really well kiplingmonkey. I ended up ordering a YC kit from the Q on Sunday night - 3 x large candles in the new Christmas fragrances. Am glad I did as it sold out (was one of the Christmas Surprise offers) and now I've seen what the forthcoming TSV contains I'm glad I got it.

Was going to treat myself to the LG TSV but it's airing the weekend we are in York and I probably won't have the spare cash for it after all.

Had a walk round Mr B's today, just bought lunch and also the Aquafresh toothpaste that's B1G1F, and using the 10% off voucgher from the ACM so worked out at 94p for 2 :T so although an IN I don't consider it as one because we do go through toothpaste, and at that price its' good to stock up. I do stock rotate so it's going to the back of the drawer as there's others to use up first :o

I did look at the Tesco baby shampoo and bubble bath as I decant them into my handwash bottles and they are getting low. I didn't buy as it's usually around 8p, now it's 56p  what a jump up in price
Bit miffed to discover that I no longer am required to do the daily TV/radio survey I've been doing the past couple of years  no message until I contacted them to query why I couldn't log in :( and wasn't getting any email reminder. Poor show by them and it's their loss.

welcome back Scrappie, glad to hear your mum is doing well, hope you have a fab holiday, :j

I have some uu's and an IN to declare:

uu Liz Earle skin repair 15ml, I didn't find this particularly moisturising, if anything my skin appeared a bit dry, wnba

uu Sanctuary shower gel, smells lush, have more in the stash

uu Balance me facial wash, still working my way through the magazine freebies!

uu Aveda shampure sample - there wasn't really enough in the sample to decide whether it was any good

    IN
Philosophy hope in a jar (15ml), thought I would give this a try now that I have no other moisturisers in the stash

    happy pampering, xo

Great news about your mum Scrappie. Vegas sounded fab - I love there, it's my favourite holiday destination.

I am having a bit of an issue with my No7 night cream. It is in a pump action bottle made of very think plastic - the type your kitchen shears can't get cut through. I can see that there is about a fifth of product left in it but the pump is no longer delivering. I have done the shake 'n' shuggle but it is still not working. Really miffed as I don't want to TA the rest of this.
